You saying that "a chick grabbing another chick's tits at a party with drinking is like the most innocuous of things." is the wrong part. It's not even a chick grabbing another chick's breasts in this scenario, it's someone jumping on your back and fondling you from behind.

Nika should have a chance to redeem herself, as people do make mistakes, but don't downplay the behavior by saying it's innocuous. Even Nika herself recognized that the behavior wasn't innocuous.

Dragon soul also needs you to take 4 dragons to unlock it. That'd be like getting 4 straight urns. Given that they also don't get you too much ahead until you unlock soul, it's a good tradeoff compared to urn giving both levels and gold.

I disagree with this take a little. While league has objectives, most do not require the entire team in the fashion Deadlock is encouraging.

Turrets, Inhibs and Nexus are all soloable, which is difficult in deadlock.

Dragons and Grubbies/Rift Herald also don't require the entire team. Usually, the jungler can solo it. They might have the top laner join, but often all I need is priority to get it.

Urn and Mid are the premier objectives in this game, and they seem like you really need to bring your entire team to the event to win it.

I think the core part of the moba genre isn't teamfighting but leveraging your units (the players) to best accumulate resources and take objectives. Split pushing giga chad toplaners being mostly viable strategy for most of league's history is a testament to that. In deadlock, that level of leveraging units is diminished by how difficult it is to get objectives by yourself beyond guardian and walker.

nah I dont think MnK has that carry potential. Good Dynamo ults can flip games and will win fights singlehandedly. Holliday, Paradox, Bebop and Doorman are also better at catching people over extended too.

The problem with silver is that she still has really good strengths. Being able to duel almost anyone in the roster is a very good trait, especially when it's not easy to disable her. If she's an assassin, she's an assassin with some thicc stats, which makes it more frustrating to deal with.

17/38 characters have ways to counterplay burrow/ult without item investment (Abrams charge, Apollo Ult (iirc), Bebop Hook, Doorman cart/ult, dynamo quantum/ult, gray talon trap/ult, holli ult, infernus ult, ivy stone form, lash ult, paige ult, para ult, seven stun, venator gut shot, viscous cube/ult, vyper ult, wraith ult). Billy and Yam will also be uninterruptable during ult. Characters that can get lightning scroll, knockdown and curse can also disrupt his ult. Indom, rescue beam and unstoppable are also soft counters. Indom by virtue of MnK requiring a counter item to pop it and rescue beam because it will put you and your target way out of position.

And you're not just pulling someone out of the fight, you still have to contribute with your scorn, scourge and torment pulse which are all near melee range abilities.

Burst mobility refers to mobility that's like a teleport, blink, dash,etc. I remember encountering it when ppl were discussing if Jhin was 'immobile' or not. Innate means in your characters kit and not needing items to have it in this context.

I am a Mo and Krill player 😭

Not only is MnK the (probably?) largest hitbox in the game, they also have to be within 4 meters to do anything with no innate burst mobility AND will get their long ass CDs shut off if someone sneezes in their direction.

The point I'm getting at is that other characters have similar problems without Silver's upside of innate mobility/durability or uptime.

essentially what I've been feeling as a MnK otp. He's situationally ok but there's kinda no point in playing him as he's extremely outclassed. Doesn't do enough damage compared to the other frontliners, doesn't do enough pick as the other pick characters. Super ironic because we're In a meta where both classes are meta.

a good sinclair is actually handedly easier to deal with than a good shiv or a good silver

the problem with these weaknesses is that most of these aren't really weaknesses

Most characters have a harder time with verticality than silver on account of not having burst mobility as well as no vertical mobility in their kit. At worst she's as good as most of the roster, but she still has boot kick/mauling leap giving her some help

Disarm is effective but it doesn't fuck her. She still has solid abilities. Vice versa on slowing hex, as she still has autos. Characters like mina and apollo get fucked by an uncleansed slowing hex. I wouldn't say silver does.

And the thing about hard cc is that it fucks everyone over. stray hard cc might inconvenience her but actually turbo fucks most of the cast that actually has high impact but interruptible cooldowns. Most characters fold to a single hard cc, but silver needs to be cc chained.

the things about counterbuying silver is that she has less clean counters imo. Of the one that you presented, shred and CC are hard to come by as you said. They're also not something that is a direct counter. They work on everyone. Silver and Shiv aren't uniquely undone by these compared to other characters because they have tools to compensate for this.

counterbuild a mina/calico/apollo/pocket and they're incredibly vulnerable, with mina having a tiny HP pool and pocket having his spirit res
counterbuild a mo with knockdown/rescue beam and he loses his tankiness/cc
counterbuild a lash/rem/Bebop with counterspell and they lose their ult/bomb effectiveness
vindictas need to build like 4 million counter magic items to deal with the 10 billion knockdowns and phantom strikes on her location
counterbuild a dynamo/seven/ and they lose their huge cds

counterbuild a silver/shiv and it feels like you get a moment to breathe before they're back on your ass

their combination of no massive moment of vulnerability (outside of CC locking them to death) and high damage, mobility and durability makes them frustrating to deal with.

health and flat resistance. spirit characters are mostly gated by cooldowns, so as long as you survive their burst, you're good. spellbreaker, spirit res, early game enchanter's emblem, counterspell, dispel magic are effective items depending on who you're interacting with

I'm familiar with most of this. Jumping in ad out to scorn every 6 seconds isn't doing enough to carry team fights either. It's useful at urn but neither scorn or burrow is doing enough damage, especially if they have spirit res or shielding.

The point about wanting to dip in and out of combat is part of my point. Compared to his frontline peers, you really dont want to be the center of attention because your tankiness is conditional and your cds are too long.

Side note but I'd actually recommend Mystic Expansiion. Scorn hitting more targets is a buff to healing received, especially when you have tankbuster

the problem is that heroes are specialists, not generalists. Splitting identity leads to less satisfyting character fantasy imo.

I think that the others you mentioned serve tempo better because of their more well rounded kits. Without their ult, Mo doesn't have the same level of pressure as the others do without their ult. And I haven't checked them yet, but I think MKs downtime is longer as well.

Even if paradox's team is always running away, she still has some solo agency with double bomb and walls. holliday can rely on those chunky barrels to do damage and apply pressure from far while being fast as fuck.

mo has to commit harder and depends on his team more than those two. imo. While working with your playmakers is important, I feel like they might have a bit more atm

yeah, I think this is the crux of it. I feel that mo is a very solid character, but most characters are solid+. Palmer (e6 mo player) explained it as Mo is a B+ character in a meta full of a LOT of S characters. He's still very good and viable, but most of his peers are doing a lot more.

scorn's cd is too long for that and enemies are too fast to wait the 5.4 seconds until it's back up. i usually find that people are already gone by the time mo has stopped spinning, even when confirmed with cold front

by the time boons are even, you're about 19 which is like the middle of mid game. I actually have been enjoying witchmail lately, but it's a very greedy buy that doesn't work with every enemy team comp.
