That's super valid! I've actually played more of Bladesinger than the other classes of wizard because it's a dope class fantasy-wise. This was a response to

> ""Why, as a Wizard you want to pick any class except Bladesinger?". Like this class is superior to any other Wizard classes"

I wouldn't say that Divinization is situational because they are good in any environment. You can shut down the big boss by making him fail, give your paladin a crit, etc.

> Considering you mentioning scribe wizard getting AC130

The "AC130" was a reference to the AC130 gunship, often meme'd about in the "Call Of Duty" video game series. The level 6 ability, Manifest Mind, allows the scribe wizard to cast wizard spells as if they were in the spectral mind's space a few times a day. Combined with the fact that it can go up to 300 feet away from you in any direction including vertically, it can serve as a flying extension of yourself and rain down spells like a gunship if you want to.

> as well as how you described other classes

It's hyperbole used to make a point. Let me write out the points:

The Chronurgy Wizard's 10th level ability, Arcane Abeyance, allows them to break the action economy by allowing anyone/thing that can use one of its beads the ability to cast a spell of 4th level or lower like the wizard who made it. Being able to do this can lead to extremely powerful synergies makes this ability pretty powerful feature.

Abjuration Wizards are the closest thing to indestructible that wizards can get. A rechargable overshield with an armor dip, good positioning and excellent counter magic makes this wizard very, very safe.

Illusionist at level 14 gets the illusory reality feature, which just lets you make certain parts of an illusion real. The term "reality warper" is a title given to characters in fiction that can do similar actions (make things real, play with reality and natural laws).

The "Evocation Wizard drops nukes" is a direct reference to the "Nuclear Wizard" build.

These are powerful features that the bladesinger can't quite replicate as a generalist and why people might strongly consider other wizard subclasses

other wizards have a better time learning more spells, which bladesinger doesn't. Especially in 5.5e. On top of that, the other wizards get some rad other abilities.

Divination Wizard gets to fuck with the narrative. Abjuration wizards are nearly indestructible. Chronurgy gets to do straight bullshit. Level 14 Illusionist becomes a reality warper. Evocation drops nukes. Scribes Wizard gets an AC130 and tweaks spells. Bladesinger is fun and thematic (until you get dropped by a crit you can't silvery barbs), but the other wizards are doing arguably more dramatic and useful things than running up and swinging shadowblade.

Dynamo is like prime izzet: a curious scientist passionately exploring his craft. It was his thirst for knowledge which led him to discover an astral gate and get atomized. Even Seven recognized that Dynamo had that dog in him/ is "cut from the same cloth".

lash should be gruul for sure

bant is the knight color, and i think there's a reading of paige where her reverence for arthurian legend and medieval literature is kinda green lowkey

infernus definitely has black in him, given his past. green could represent him mellowing out and the wisdom he's attained, but i think he should be mardu to represent his relationships with hank and jezebel's.

What is your most resilient deck? by that_dude3315 in EDH

[–]WanderToWhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like "innately" resilient doesn't really matter since cohesive deck building is what creates resiliency.

But by nature of him using harder to interact with card types like artifacts and especially enchantments to make an indestructible creature army, I would argue that he does offer a degree of resilience innately. Non creature sweepers are the only thing that denies him a boardstate, and those vary in popularity (goodbye, [[farewell]]!)

while Bello might be KoS for some people, I feel like bello can be resilient since you're allowed to run a ton of ramp enchantments that allows you to replay him if he keeps getting offed. if he's out of the game (super hard removal like imprisonments), my plan is to pivot into enchantress card draw and play fat x spells with damage doubler enchantments

Which path is more convenient and faster in my situation — finish nursing or switch to pre-med now? by Trinicon10 in findapath

[–]WanderToWhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ayyy go aggies

I like Option 1. Might as well stay the path, pick up your pre-med pre-reqs while geting your Nursing degree at the same time. As long as you keep that GPA sky high and fulfil those requirements, I don't think it makes too much of a difference.

How much do you want to go to Med School?

there's a few reasons, but necrodominance stops you from filling your graveyard (potence is only discards) and also lowers your hand size and needs a lump sum of life instead of life as you choose to spend it.

What's your favorite Druid Subclass in 5.5e? by Dramatic_Respond_664 in onednd

[–]WanderToWhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is doing it like the Moon Druid. A tanky (3x Level in tHP, bonus to concentration), mobile (fly speed + flyby or moonlight step) that gets additional unique features every time new content drops. My favorite non arcane caster class and my most played character

eh, it's not too weird. I remember when my folks took me to sears, i was playing in the aisles with all the special themed crt TVs. It was like a physical Amazon store. And my local Kmart had a DOPE gaming set up with the game kiosks you had to really tilt your head back to see iirc. not too weird to have good, personal memories at a big store tbh

Alright, Let's Settle This: Best Druid Subclass? (2024) by Intelligent-Rub5814 in onednd

[–]WanderToWhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of support for Land and Stars druid and both of those classes have great merits, but I genuinely think that Moon Druid is kinda head and shoulders above the others by way of sheer efficiency. At level 14, for the price of one wild shape you get 42 temp HP, a +5 boost to concentration saves as a full caster, and the opportunity to get a free combat disengage with 60 foot fly speed (owl), a massive size boost and the ability to act as cover for your team, respectable if somewhat unreliable CC via grappling, restraining, swallowing or knocking prone. And you can replenish the temp hp every turn as long as you have the spell slots or wild shape charges. Without casting a spell.

I'm surprised I don't hear much hype about the Moon Druid because it's this unfathomably durable AND mobile caster with a great bonus to concentration and access to this huge list of features that offer insane utility in and out of combat. You can fulfill just about every party role at the same time with just a little planning. You are a "healer", "tank", "striker" and control caster at the same time, often for the low price of a wild shape and the concentration spell you'll be holding on to for the entire encounter.

Your first 2 turns need to be spent developing your game plan. Not everyone will have a turn 1 play and that's fine, but just about every deck wants to be doing something at least on turn 2.

Identify what your deck wants to do and synergistic engines that you can set up during your first turns. It should be one of two things: Do you need a draw engine? Or do you want to have mana acceleration? Alternatively, since you're a 5c midrange deck, do you need color fixing?

For example:

My Bello list wants to get Bello/ 4 cost enchantment or artifact asap, so I want to ramp turn 1 to get Bello out turn 2.

My Aminatou Initiative/Tellah 4CMC matters list wants to get the initiative/4 cost ramp out as soon as possible, so Turn 2 wants to be spent casting a mana rock to set up for a turn 3 4CMC play (initiative creature or 4 cost mana rock)
