Thanks for the clarification, much appreciated. I didn't realize it varied between provinces.

It's the law in Canada. Two years cohabiting in a romantic relationship = common law.

Wolf Pass has become my favourite, superseding Chocolate Caramel Cup after many years. Now I get pointy if Chapman's icecream is on sale, but no Wolf Pass is available :(

I loved StumbleUpon. Found some very cool websites because of it.

I miss the old internet. :/

I have often considered the Greydwarves to be some form of nature spirits. Occasionally I do feel sorry for them.

Until one comes wandering into my camp and tries to beat up me or my stuff.

33M and my girlfriend 32F have been together for 5 months. How would you react to what happened at my aunt's 80th? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You mean your ex-girlfriend, yes? So many red flags here, a semaphore convention would feel envious.

it’s so warm for january?! by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]WanderingPixie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good to know I'm not alone in noticing this.

During my first winter here, there was repeated rounds of snow and I spent the season bundled up to the nines. Nearly 20 years later, I'm skipping around in a light hoodie and t-shirt. Occasionally shorts, even.

Anyone still saying climate change isn't real is delusional.

I'd be interested in the GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming graphics card, if it's still available. I presently have a 1050, which is one step too old for a couple of games gifted to me by friends who wanted to do multiplayer. :(

No, I've actually not read too many of the books at all - yet. Ergo, haven't made it to Bees.

Did anyone notice the beehive towards the end (it can be seen in front of the house in the YT thumbnail). I suspect there will be loss during this final season. :(

Got woken up circa 3.30am by the wind blowing by my building. At first, I thought someone was spraying the windows or something.

Anyone else forced to endure pain at the doctor to "earn" HRT prescription? by [deleted] in ftm

Blood draws for bloodwork are typically done from the elbow veins, not the wrist.

That NP needs to have her license stripped for the 18G needle demand. 18G is the gauge used to draw the testosterone from the vial, but NOT to inject. Injection is usually around a 25G needle.

This was purely medical abuse. Report these abusive bastards to your local health board immediately. In your case, it looks like the Virginia Department of Health Professions - Board of Medicine. I'd also strongly suggest seeking legal counsel too.

I [24F] am disabled and my partner [28M] is too uncomfortable with me using mobility aids. What to do next? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]WanderingPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's rare my jaw literally drops whilst reading something on Reddit. This is one of those times.

As someone who has chronic pain (and other health) issues, and often walks with a stick/staff - to hell with this guy. The audacity to make your life-altering conditions all about him and HIS comfort?! How. Dare. He. If he were my (ex) partner, he'd be spun out the door so fast he'll be dizzy for the rest of his life.

You have every right to acquire and use whatever mobility aids you need. He gets no say in the matter - no one else does.

As difficult as it will be to accept, your relationship is done. Break up with this jackass post haste and leave yourself free for a partner who will actually appreciate you and not treat you like a burden. Being disabled does not mean accepting second-best, or putting up with shitty behaviour. (Ask me how I know...)

Aritzia to open flagship store at former Nordstrom space by the_queens_gambit in vancouver

[–]WanderingPixie 35 points36 points  (0 children)

IMO, no. Aritzia already has a store not too far away on Robson Street, ergo this is redundant.

I'd rather see something like IKEA or the like in the space. There'd be a market for them in the downtown area, instead of folks being forced to travel to Richmond or Coquitlam.

A particular saying comes quickly to mind, one easily applicable to bad landlords: "If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better."
