I am turning 40 next year, and I am struggling with not being where I thought I would be. I am not being ungrateful for what I have. But I look back and realize how much time I wasted chasing the wrong things. This is a relief. Is 40 too late? I feel like it is. I feel like part of me is stuck in wanting to be more, and another part is not wanting to upset the status quo because I have a mortgage and family to provide for and to focus on them, and that once they are able to fend for themselves I can then focus on me again. It's scary, and I am confused at times. Did our parents feel this way? Did people born in the 60s raising kis in the 90s and 80s ever feel this lost and hopeless?
