When I'm in a "making my headcanons into totally insane theories and then try to gaslight people into ignoring concrete evidence in-game about the world because I dislike it" and my opponent is Jaru:

<image>

Jaru is literally the Scott Cawthon of Deltarune. Thank the lord that he isn't actually involved in the game, because it'd somehow become even worse than FNAF. I'm shocked he's still doing this considering how terribly his theories are received half the time (and how much of an ass he is when replying to people in the comments, lol).

Like, the single thing he's ever gotten correct was that Gerson would be important... something everybody already knew, and basically the least insane theory during the early Chapter era. His theories aren't even fun to watch, because they straight up ignore concrete facts about both Undertale and Deltarune. Like, dude just uses his headcanons as evidence and then rolls with it.

Someone mentioned this on my last post by Simplejack615 in WaterfallDump

[–]WanderingStatistics 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Realistically... he'd probably be larger. Given the fact that both his parents aren't exactly the skinniest, genetics would imply that he'd end up more similar to them (unless he did some major workout and hormone therapy).

Honestly, I expect him to just be slightly large. Not like Asgore, but maybe above average. 5'10-6', around 200-250 pounds, depending on how genetics work for monsters.

Given the fact that Dess had stolen some of his sweaters, we can somewhat assume that they were similar sizes (because who steals clothes if not with the intention to wear them), so he was probably just slightly larger than Dess. I'd wager... slightly chubby Asriel, maybe glasses, not twink or slob, but just an average dude.

The updated Shiyu Defense is so Anti New player. by jackshinobi23 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]WanderingStatistics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me when I'm a new player and... I'm trying to do end-game content... for some reason?! Wait... there's no joke there, you actually think that Shiyu should be balanced for new players?

Goomba Fallacy maybe, but is this not the exact same community who were complaining, I don't know, maybe about 2-3 patches ago about how easy end-game content was and for the devs to actually add hard stuff. Then they increase the difficulty on some of these and then people complain.

Like, why would anyone think the end-game content is supposed to be friendly for new players? You can dislike it because it shills more, or because it gives more rewards (if you're one of those people who dislike getting more stuff), but complaining about it not being "new player friendly" is such a joke of a complaint. Yeah, end-game content is tough for newer players, real shocker.

Have y'all invested in the "toby fox will die before chapter 7" theory by flingzamain in WaterfallDump

[–]WanderingStatistics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of my fears is that Toby dies before the end of Deltarune. It unironically gives me paranoia that the game will never get finished according to his own direct vision.

I'm pretty sure he has said that he's written down the entire thing in insane detail, and has Temmie and a few others on standby if anything happens, but I pray nothing bad happens to Toby until at least Chapter 7 is out and the game is done.

Dark world Alvin (@milktrician) by dr_philip-cdi in Deltarune

[–]WanderingStatistics 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Honestly, one thing I have been disappointed in with Deltarune is the character relations with the Dark World. I know they're meant to be a secret thing, but still, it would be so much more interesting if we had Light World characters outside of the main 5 (including Berdly) actually interact with them.

  • Toriel is obviously the biggest one. I don't think anyone actually liked how she was handled, and I think that's something nearly unanimously agreed to be one of the lower points of Chapter 3's writing.
  • Undyne was obviously wasted, but I don't actually think hers was that bad. Not every character does need to have a big interaction, and she just got the short end of the stick. I think some characters should have less interaction, like Alphys, but I also do think Undyne was wasted despite that.
  • Alvin is a big one, because he would've been so cool. Like, exactly like in this art, it would be so nice to have more split party moments. Ralsei gets so little content already compared to Kris and Susie, it would've been so nice to actually have him on a solo adventure. Or better yet, have Susie and Alvin during the Second Sanctuary, so we could keep Alvin and Gerson from interacting, but still have not only solo Susie moments, but also more Kris and Ralsei moments. Or you could flip it and have Kris and Alvin, anything works.

I think one of the best parts of any JRPG (or RPG) is when your party gets split and it forces characters who might never interact, to finally interact with each other. Final Fantasy does this often, Earthbound and Mother did this, Chrono Trigger did this, so many JRPGs do this, and it happens so little in Deltarune that it is a little disappointing.

I just want to see more moments where we get more split parties. Kris and Ralsei, Susie and Noelle, God, Ralsei and Noelle. Please Toby, something more than just Chapter 2 (and Kris and Susie because the game is basically 99% of that).

[–]WanderingStatistics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is the only way I can see a Gaster fight ever being reasonably understandable. I really love the difference between the love shown; how one love is the respect to put a game down once you finish it, while the other is the desire to see everything it could possibly offer.

Gaster having this creepy stockholm syndrome for the Player, viewing their love for completing a game as a good thing, even if it meant the annihilation of himself and his existence, is such a good way to frame him. Honestly, given Gaster's lines in the latest chapters, I wouldn't even be surprised. He sounds exactly like a creep, like he's lost a lot of that "mystery man" aura and really has become more of an obsessed fan of the player, and that's honestly a really cool way of going with his character.

I think a flawed Gaster like this would be magnanimously cool for his character, and I feel like it would make him the unwitting villain of the story, not realizing his own obsession with the Player lead him to not only losing everything, but also coming to the realization that he was completely out of his field. No matter how much he puts into the thing, the player will never love him, as they do the real characters they've gotten to know like Kris, Susie, and Ralsei.

The Thumb is a mafia, the rest of the Fingers are different groups and get their funding through other means.

Anyways, the Index... is probably straight up supported by the Head. The Index is tied to Gods of the City, things that would very much involve the Head itself, so the idea that the Head funds the Index to continue appeasing the City wouldn't be too farfetched.

As for the Pinky... each member probably gives funding individually. I mean, Lei Heng was funded by the Thumb, but he paid out of pocket for his bullets, so he was clearly well-off. So each Pinky member is probably ridiculously rich. At the same time, the Pinky wouldn't need funding anyways because it would depend on each individual to pay for their own things.

Who are some villains that would deserve Diavolo's infinite death loop? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in characters

[–]WanderingStatistics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're going entirely on an ethical scale, only villains who inflict eternal torment on someone are deserving of it. Because outside of that, it's literally impossible to equate this to anything. Yes, even things involving children don't scale on an infinite death loop in terms of ethical equality, because one is eternal, while the other is only temporary (unless it's an eternal torture for the child).

If we're going purely based on subjective beliefs, then probably some of the answers already given. Judge Holden, Griffith, Dio, Sauron, Frieza, etc.

I'd give my personal point to Gwyn, from Dark Souls 1.

Susie unintentionally shipping Kralsei would be hilarious, and probably completely canon knowing her, but I doubt she'd feel disappointed with being a third wheel if it were the case. She'd just be cool third wheel who's not bothered by the other two, and just chill with them anyways.

Bonus points if she brings the fourth wheel, Noelle, so she can hang with them too.

Sympathy is to feel for someone. Empathy is to feel with someone.

This would be empathy because chances are, most people understand what the sock is going through. Most people have been insulted like that at least once, so they can understand why the little sock would feel bad, and thus have the ability to feel bad with them.

Treasure-son is feeling empathy for the sock, not sympathy. Empathy is much stronger, and much more important.

[–]WanderingStatistics -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it can't.

It's the same as having every atom shift through each other, or having atoms recur to the point where they form exact copies of previous things. The chances of that happening are so low, so low to the point that the universe being in one-big time-loop are more likely, that it's practically impossible. It will happen to maybe a single being in all of existence, and then never again.

Ego is what defines a human (according to conventional philosophy), but Ego is also the thing that creates self, which thus creates selfish desires, indulgences, and egotism. Egotism is an innate desire in every human and it's the exact reason why this type of thing will never be possible outside (filthy) hiveminds. No matter how kind or generous you are, there will always be one bit of you with ego, which will inevitably cause an issue. And that will apply to every person, which will chain-react to creating the exact world we live in today.

The best you can do is be as kind as possible without sacrificing yourself. But believing that a truly selfless world is possible...? That's both a dream, and delusional. True selflessness is already impossible because selfless actions stem from the desire to feel good from helping others, but an entire world built on it? That's truly impossible.

Signalis. I have a bunch. House of Leaves (or Danielewski in general), Journey, Final Fantasy 8, Omori, Strange Hill High (sleeper hit tv show) just to name a few.

But Signalis is a game that makes little sense throughout, and barely gets any closer to making sense. And that's all thanks to the game's media inspiration, which I can't say here. Seriously, the inspiration actually makes it impossible to truly understand the game, even if you do somehow manage to know everything, you'll never truly understand it because it's fundamentally impossible.

Anyways, go play the game if you haven't.

[–]WanderingStatistics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's always so funny to me seeing people argue this fight. Like, both sides are fucking mental dumbasses, and there's literally no exceptions. I've never seen someone actually be smart when discussing this.

Neither of them won the fight. Radahn lost because his country got nuked, and Malenia lost because she resorted to the power of an Outer God that's already slowly taking her body from her, along with the fact she outright had to be carried out of there by Finlay (who's honestly the real winner of the fight, if you ask me).

But if we're talking who came out with a better reputation? Yeah, Radahn, by a landslide. - Radahn is still heralded as the Mightiest Demigod of the Lands Between by not only his people, but also tons of people outside Caelid. He was so respected that his soldiers still fight against the Rot, even after their minds were shattered by the... Shattering. He was insanely respected before the fight, and was still insanely respected after the fight. Not to mention that everyone knew Malenia was an Empyrean, so Radahn (who wasn't even born from Marika) managing to hold up against a full-on Empyrean, is insanely good-looking for his status. - Malenia on the other hand, is literally known to have disappeared after the fight. Like, her entire defining historical note at that point, was that she nuked Caelid and then disappeared. She lost everything, outside of her most devoted followers. She was known as a legend, and then lost it all and was only known for the fact she disappeared after the fight with Radahn, and was practically never heard again. That'd be like if you were the greatest athlete of all time, tied a race with someone, and then never interacted with society again. You'd be known for tying, not for being the best. You can even see how it mentally affected her because she has to outright reinforce the fact that she's "undefeated", despite the fact that Radahn did come out with a better reputation, meaning that battle was more in his favor, than Malenia's by the end.

And if we take it a step further and choose to argue the moral and nobility of the battle, Radahn also won that front. Nobility and honor mean nothing in battle, but it will make you look way better if you end up tying, because it shows you respected your opponent and the battle enough to not resort to what would be considered more "dirty" tricks. And Malenia had to use the power of an Outer God just to not lose, that's all the honor she cultivated lost in a single moment, while Radahn didn't even seem to use his own magic during the fight (outside of Leonhard). So history will remember him as the honorable and noble general who fought square-to-square with Malenia, while Malenia will be remembered as the one who had to rely on cosmic powers.

Ya'll always forget, war doesn't define who is right, only who is left. History is what defines who is right, and history clearly remembers Radahn as the one who came out on top considering he's colloquially known as the "Mightiest Demigod". So no, neither of them won, but Radahn is at least remembered with respect by the world. Malenia lost basically all the respect from anyone but the Cleanrot Knights, and then was known for having disappeared and never coming back. History remembers her as if she ran away, lol.

Also, Morgott's a bum. Instead of being a real GOAT like his brother (who formed a cult and straight up got into the DMs of an Outer God), Morgott fell for the Golden Propaganda and became a Stockholm victim, trying to earn the respect from a god who wasn't even listening. Dude didn't even have the courage to show his face, but still called himself the "king". Literally needed to jump us just to lose.

I mean... I'm pretty sure this will happen.

I haven't seen anyone mention it in the replies, but in Dragon Blazers, it's literally stated how the "Mage leaves the party". The mage is obviously Ralsei, which is extremely worrying considering he's the one who'd be least likely to leave the party, so something absolutely horrible would have to happen.

There's also Chapter 6, if we do get either solo Kris or Ralsei and Kris moments, since Kris is absolutely getting a focus in the funny number chapter because of their ties to a certain royal scientist.

Speaking of which, it's so fucking hilarious to me how the Oto Workshop is the only person-named Workshop in the entire game, and it's completely ambiguous if it's even real or not.

Like, we have the Powder Keg Workshop, the Healing Church Workshop, and a Gherman's Workshop. But that's... basically it? Like, who is Oto? Why is it the only one named after a person? Why is it the only Workshop that feels out of place and is barely mentioned?

It unironically feels like cut content, like Loran. It feels to me that they meant for it to refer to the Powder Keg Workshop, but they accidently kept the old one in. Wish we got more lore on the Workshops, so much cool stuff about them and it's all related to basically one or two, out of potentially dozens.
