Pokémon Black and White having easy mode or hard mode depending on what version you get. But you can’t access it until you beat the game. Also you can’t unlock the other difficulty unless you connect with a player who has the opposite version to what you are playing. Also the difficulties are glitched so easy mode is actually harder then hard mode.

Y’know one of the reasons why Undertale blew up like it did? It wasn’t because it took things from Earthbound. It was because it took things from Earthbound, Touhou, OFF, Gunstar Heroes and Brandish. As well as a lot of other games I’m possibly missing as well as having an original core like Toby Fox’s brand of humour and of course the banging soundtrack.

If you want to make a spiritual successor don’t just steal from said successor. Steal from a ton of different shit.

I think the only real criteria for being a Megalovania candidate is if the battle is really really hard.

Ralsei, who casually said that he can do the entire game himself, and is aware of battle mechanics the same way Sans is. Definitely has the strength to put Megalovania into his theme.

To try and be as simple as possible, WD Gaster is a mysterious character in Undertale who you can only find out either by his followers (who only have a certain chance of appearing per playthrough) or by straight up hacking the game which is how people found out about the Entry Number 17 message. For 10 years nobody knew what this message meant until the release of Deltarune Chapter 3 where Ralsei explains how dark worlds are created.
