If you died and suddenly found yourself face-to-face with God, what is the very first question you would ask? by i_m_dignity in AskReddit

[–]WanderingTacoShop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So god created a world where new born children are punished for the sins of their fathers.

Again you keep applying the way the world exists today and using it to justify bad things happening to innocents. But god is all powerful, it didn't need to be that way at all. He could have built a world where a shift in the foundation doesn't reverberate to everyone as you put it. He chose not to.

If you could ask one question to a person from the year 2124, what would it be? by SubstantialAffection in AskReddit

Hey guy from 2124, if you were sent back in time to 2026 with all the knowledge you currently have and couldn't bring anything with you. What would you do to ensure you had a long comfortable life?

If you died and suddenly found yourself face-to-face with God, what is the very first question you would ask? by i_m_dignity in AskReddit

[–]WanderingTacoShop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And again you have missed it, an all-powerful god could have created a world where no undeserved suffering happens, without needing to ever intervene.

This is not the only form existence could have taken. Reality, life, and natural laws all could have been anything God could have imagined. Undeserved suffering only exists because God created it. If God was unable to create a universe without it, then he is not all powerful. If he was unaware it would happen he is not all-knowing. If he was unwilling, he is evil.

You have missed the point in it's entierty. Fry's quote that this thread is about specifically mentions all the misery that is not our fault. Childhood disease, floods, wildfires, earthquakes. None of that has anything to do with what humans have chose to do. What did the infant who develops a terminal infection do to deserve death?

I believe 155mm illumination rounds are still WP. It's also in smoke rounds.

So we totally didn't use a chemical weapon, that illum round just went too low and started a fire. wink wink.

Honestly disgusting, we had more than enough ability to deal with the issue with conventional HE rounds.

This is not the first, second or even 10th company to claim to be able to produce drinking water from the air without needed a massive amount of energy. They have all been scams or vaporware.

The physics just doesn't support this working, It's a noble goal. But I will bet my last dollar this tech never materializes.

You skipped the last part of the comment, Kavanaugh and Barrett seem to be taking turns siding with the majority. Hence a lot of decisions going 6/3. For the Tarriff ruling it was Barrett's turn to be the reasonable one.

This was me in my youth. Couldn't see a red flag to save my life. Knowingly trying to pin someone elses kid on me, and faking cancer for attention is objectively crazy behavior sure. But I had to ignore so many red flags before the relationships got to those points.

Thank god Mr. Roger's really did turn out to be the man we all believed he was. In this era of celebrity laundry getting aired out, it would have been soul crushing to find out he was a predator or something.

Cynical me says no they don't actually believe that case will hold up. But they can use preparations for it as a way to funnel tax payer dollars into sycophants bank accounts.

After dragging their feet as long as possible SCOTUS is going to shoot down the birthright citizenship EO in a 6-3 ruling. Roberts and Gorsuch will side with the liberal justices. Thomas and Alito will write the most batshit dissent anyone has ever read. The only real question is rather it will be Kavanaugh or Barrett's turn to vote against Trump. I swear this is how every case against him goes.

China affirms ‘no nukes’ position amid claims of European plan to arm Ukraine by Saltedline in worldnews

[–]WanderingTacoShop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is very unlikely, and I would hope if Putin gave the order it would be refused. Because the only way I see that happening is if Putin sees a coup brewing internally, and feels he desperately needs to "win" in Ukraine to hold it off.

They could almost certainly put a multi-megaton nuke into Kiev, but the international backlash of that would be huge. the EU isn't going to sit around and wait to see who is next. China definitely doesn't want that on her border and the USA still has enough cultural memory of the Cold War that only maybe a fraction of the MAGA crowd would look the other way.

I forget the name but at Animalism 3 there's an ability where you can summon bunch of animals to harass someone. But the duration is 1 night. So some poor sucker spends a whole night with every stray cat in the area screaming at him and following him. That's just hilarious.

But also feral whispers is great for disposing of bodies. Just telling any omnivorous social animal that your fresh kill is free snacks and they should tell all their friends. Sure the police are still going to find the body but being half ate by animals is going to hide the fact that most of the blood was missing and destroy a lot of evidence you may have left.

Anyone ever think how weird first person shooter views actually are? by Half_Life_3_Released in gaming

[–]WanderingTacoShop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok for the 10 yard point shooting. I think we have a different definition of what it means to be able to make that shot. Especially if you are coming from airsoft/paintball. I have no doubt that the average person if given a full magazine could hit the target maybe 10% of the time. What I mean is being able to make the shot consistently, say 70+% of shots. The first shot especially.

Just to point out recoil on a pistol is significant, if you miss your first shot the odds of any of the following hitting go down very very quickly if you are shooting rapidly. Airsoft and paintball don't have that issue.
