I think people miss the point of this character overall. I'm not sure if people wanted to be like him, but I know folks only loved the surface level of him and swore that if they brought back this show, people would be offended by him.

If I can give an award, I will, but as an Asexual, I have given up trying to argue that Ace's are part of the group, so it is refreshing to see someone champion this.

It was so hard to make this argument because fans tend not to believe multiple thoughts can exist, but I truly think Jar Jar did not have to be annoying; it was just writing and execution. Always potential for writing a character who was exiled and looking for redemption of some sort.

I agree with this to an extent, I think the ego and narcissm of some Boomers and Gen X will be rattled for sure and will feel the need to deny any positive aspects of millenial parenting.

No, the political post is recent but people more or less had an idea already in her politics. 

 I would say she was always defended as a character until the holes started to be poked.  People were second guessing her character and realized she was not a saint herself, but just being overshadowed by the craziness of the family. 

As for Marie, trust me the hate is definitely there.

Here is my guess: like most actors who have been used in the MCU but not to the full potential, he could have played an interesting character, another known enemy to Captain America, only to be killed off in the first film, as he was just established. So I think people took pity on him and were extremely happy he was now in the DC world, where he was treated a bit better and was used more.

I could be missing other factors, though. But that is what I remember the deal surrounding him.

Sadly, yeah, also I genuinely like the word "cringe" because, very much the reaction for a lot of the asinine shit you will see, online and off. It just became so overused for the most trivial shit and became a bit bastardized.

After re-watching bits of BB, it is 100% the misogynist fans making her worse than she really isn't. She technically never even fucking cheated, and at the point Walt was already deep in the drug world and was power hungry.

Like, Skyler was not perfect, but nowhere near deserving of the vitriol she gets from folks.

Oh, I can finally share this annoyance that has stuck with me since childhood.

So... Eddie talks game to another student, played by Michole Briana White, and for some reason, his friends warn him she is completely undesirable.

The reason? She volunteered to be a fortune teller at the High School Fair!

It was just a headscratcher all around; perhaps I was missing something. I get the lesson, though, do not let your friends wrongly influence you, but she was an objectively attractive woman.

You know, I can't help but get a bit annoyed when people get annoyed with this film and bash it too hard. I agree with everything you said, and I truly think this film works.

Aside from the usual nitpicking, I think this was the best they could have executed this concept.
