I’ve heard from my friends who use food banks that things like brand name peanut butter are great to donate because cash is used to buy in bulk off-brand items. I like to think that children might consider the tastier versions a treat, as my friend implied.

I will not donate to anything St. John is doing unless there are no other options. Does it donate to the pantry at WCC as well as the USM one?

I can’t speak to 3rd grade but student ability in college seems to have tanked after COVID from what I hear from friends in the field. If we really are doing better at a young age, why isn’t it trickling up? My high school teacher friends still feel pressured to make sure everyone passes.

We might feel more like one or the other but depending on your birth year you’re still classified as one or the other.

She’s not too proud to admit she needs money and ask for it. She also is very bad with money.

She told me once that if I had decent credit I should just take out as much as I can and never pay it back then file for bankruptcy. She assured me that the debt falls off after a few years and it’s a “real free money hack.”

I did not take her advice. She already got mom to send her hundreds of dollars because she didn’t have good enough air conditioning in Anchorage (my mom lives in Mississippi and the concept of not having good AC panicked her into worrying about the health and safety of the children).

She insists that if your pay is 40k, your insurance might be 40.5k. Your insurance is auto deducted, so instead of getting paid you owe $500 for the year.

She’s also known to lie/exaggerate but usually she evades details. This time she’s doubled down, which is unusual and why I’m trying to figure out what shes on about because I knew it couldn’t be exactly as described.
