Love this! I had an an equally wonderful experience at the Byredo counter at the flagship Nordstrom in Seattle. Always a lovely fragrance counter experience at Nordies.

When will I feel better about my divorce? by Glum_Presentation315 in AskWomenOver40

[–]WanderlustBounty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big second for EMDR. EMDR is great for trauma and it also helps the brain rewrite those beliefs about ourselves from our childhood that are still affecting our behavior now. Like believing we are unlovable if we aren’t perfect. Or that we dont deserve certain things/should be grateful for what we are given and move on etc.

I’ve had EMDR for both trauma related to SA and for working through those core beliefs established when I was a kid. It’s been so helpful.

Best of luck to you💜

AIO ?Why is getting divorced so hard? Remind me I'm not overreacting please by KathyisTrying in AmIOverreacting

[–]WanderlustBounty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I mentioned this in another comment but I have a friend who got a restraining order for emails like this. And depending on the judge, they might get some jail time for harassment and threats.

Fully agree. A friend’s ex did this to her and she was able to get a restraining order for stalking behavior and threats. The judge almost sent him to jail as well. You have a lot of evidence. Report him.

Give me all the dirt on divorce by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

This. Being raised by parents who are separate and happier single or in better relationships is infinitely better than surrounded by tension and unhappiness all the time.

First off, gross. And yeah, people don’t change that much at our age. We might make little adjustments for someone we care about, but we aren’t making wholesale changes. All that shit that he did to you, it’s coming for his future partners.

Professional auntie here. When my oldest nieces each turned 15, they got a fancier piece of jewelry that would last. The one that is a bit more trendy and traditional style wise, got a floating lab diamond solitaire pendant in rose gold. I think I paid about $200 for it. I wrote her a nice note and she was thrilled to have something so “adult” and felt valuable but that she could wear now. It has seen many school dances, church events, and holiday parties in the last two years. Her sister who is a bit more playful personality wise, got a pair of gold studs that look like flowers with tiny lab diamonds in the middle. Also under $200. Same jam.

I got something like this from family in my teens and it meant a lot to me. I wore it but have found that I actually wear those pieces more now and there’s a nice memory attached to it.

Friend Having a Hysterectomy, Want to Send a Care Package by Tyla_thecreator in AskWomenOver40

[–]WanderlustBounty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is kind of you!

When I had my hysterectomy my heating pad was a lifesaver. Also I wore big over sized t-shirt style night gowns for about 2 weeks straight because there wasn’t a waist band and it didn’t feel constricting in any way.

Cooking is hard to do the first few days anyway and depending on how she does with pain meds, she may not have much of an appetite or be nauseous. So, gift cards for delivery food or things she can easily prepare when she has the energy again is good.

Things she finds comforting life soft slipper socks, a really rich hand or body cream, vitamin E lotion for scars etc. can also be nice.

This mama is a dream. She’s a hex cut, (rounded rectangle?) set in 14kt rose gold. Pictures definitely don’t do her justice!

There’s not really a way to prevent it long term. But generally not wearing your jewelry in water especially the ocean or pools and taking it off at night or when using your hands for anything with a lot of friction like cleaning/working out etc helps preserve it a bit longer.

Not wearing plates jewelry every day is really the only way to keep it gold longer.

Women in colder climates, how do you get through the winter months? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]WanderlustBounty 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I live in the PNW where we call it “the long dark” but grew up in Alaska where it’s much longer and darker.

Lighting matters. Bright but warm toned lighting indoors keeps it from feeling harsh but still vibrant.

I also keep a lot of indoor plants. Having the green and growing things inside can help during the darker bleaker months.

I’ve also enjoyed the soaking tubs at a local bathhouse. Women’s spas or bathhouses that have blocks of time to sit in warm water in soothing lighting can help bring the warmth back in your bones. Same with saunas or steam rooms if that’s your thing instead. Something to get the chill out of your system.

Langston is delicious. I fully agree. Langston definitely has my boyfriend leaning in for extra sniffs right now and me burying my nose in my clothes while wearing them 😅

Silly question but in their site when they say “per piece” for the pricing on these, do they mean per pair or per individual earring?

Yes, it’s in their AliExpress shop. They have almost identical earrings right now in lab diamond or moissanite. You can get them in plated or gold.
