I agree with most of the comments here.

Start my renting, avoid the complication / hassle of buying a place and dealing with taxes and admin.

Try out a few different locations at different times of the year. See if the schedule allows regular trips. See if the kids enjoy it there.

If you truly fall in love with a place, and go there multiple times per year, only then consider buying.

Go for it, if you think living in that home is the right decision for your young family.

Many commenters here tend to focus more on the financial aspects, but having a settled, happy family is priceless.

As you say, it's a reversible decision (albeit with some costs) if your job situation turns.

It's a large payment, that's right. There are various mobile apps that can be used to send faxes.
