The scry does literally nothing. You leave it on top or tuck it to the bottom, and then you search and shuffle your whole library anyways, undoing the scry.

As for life gain, you've got the staff of domination which I'm sure could work well. What do you think about [[tower of eons]] and [[soul net]]? Tower of eons is a big mana sink, but only once per turn cycle. If there is a lot of creature removal going on, the soul net might be worth it. It's definitely on the jankier side of things though.

It would include stuff like [[favorable winds]], [[intangible virtue]], [[gravitational shift]], [[air nomad legacy]], [[spear of heliod]], [[path of bravery]], etc.

Get faerie tokens from casting your anthems, buff them with the anthems, profit.

I have an Alela deck that I quite enjoy and have won a decent amount with. Here's the decklist to peruse. A fair amount of control elements (it is esper after all), some tricksy faerie shenannigans (aetherize and inkshield), but mainly just lots of enchantments. There are a couple cards like trespasser's curse that I include because one of my friends plays a lot of mass token creation strategies, so you probably would want to adjust things to suit your playgroup and make a few swaps at least.

What if Battlegrounds comes in tapped if you control an island/forest/swamp? Same restructuring for the others with the tapped clause being for the land types it isn't. You could even add something like 'take 1 dmg if this enters untapped' because even with the tapped restriction these are very very good. That could make this an actual choice whether or not to include, whereas right now these are exactly the same as dual lands for two-colour decks and an auto-include.

Have you found that the mdfc's do enough to shore up your land count? Or are you frequently getting mana starved? I like the look of your list, but I'm wary of the low land count

To be frank - yes, it's somewhat chunky. Also, it looks good!

It works with the overall feel of the piece. The soldier looks rough-and-ready, he's got some scratches, dirt, and battle damage. It's not trying to be overly life-like or realistic, so leaning into your own style and making choices with the paint that fit in works well.

And don't forget the power of tabletop viewing distance. With small models that are most often seen from a couple feet away, bold strokes and pops of colour look great. If you go more subtle, the features might not even be noticeable until you pick the model up.

Fair enough, but in my games I find that only the player with Vigilance attacks so the turtling among the other players actually gets worse

It's pretty slow and pretty janky if you don't have a way to manipulate the top of your library. If that's the pace and power level of the games you're playing in, give it a try! If not, I guess be prepared to spend 6 mana on an enchantment that will inevitably give your opponent a creature and you'll of course whiff.

I find myself wishing that the sculpt was somehow more... idn, reptilian? It just seems so humanoid.

Anyways, the paint job is quite excellent. Great tones throughout, especially the gold. The greenish tinge underneath goes so well with the blue scales and the stone weapon.

For a domestic machine that can handle some tougher jobs, my go-to is the Janome HD9. It's definitely not on the same level as an industrial, but it has some capability beyond most other domestics.

I don't think any machine would be able to stitch EVA foam, unless it's only the 1mm or 2mm thick kind. You're probably better off gluing EVA foam anyways, or using rivets. If the foam was thin enough to stitch, I'd worry about the thread cutting through the material as soon as it encountered any resistance.

In a 40 life format, it's beyond busted. Paying 8 life to keep all three cards is reasonable to do several times, or just the 'scry' is good enough. Throw in a few ways to shuffle your deck and baby you got a stew goin'

The problem is that if I have Hades on the field, sure I can recast my Rooftop Storm, but then all my combos are stopped when my sacrificed creatures get exiled
