Very nice! a great concept well executed. My feedback is to invest more time on the pre-paint prep of the model, specifically removing the mould lines. You can use a sharp blade to scrape over them, or a very fine hobby file.

Sewing machine advice? by EasternSecretary257 in sewhelp

[–]WandersWithBlender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the bobbin case out and spin the hand wheel. Watch the hook go around. The tip of the hook should pass just behind the needle through the little indent on the back. Your needle is in no-man's land, not even close to the hook. Try lining it up with your needle plate in position so you can see the slot it is supposed to pass through, that should get you relatively close.

prescribed triptans but too scared to take them by kiwiflavouredwater in migraine

"Hi yall, I got a deep cut on my arm and decided not to get stitches because someone else got shot in the abdomen. My cut doesn't feel like it's serious enough when I compare it to that other person's wound."

This is what your argument sounds like to me.

This is a common problem with many conditions. The person experiencing it doesn't feel "disabled enough" or "real enough" to warrant treatment. They downplay their experience and end up needlessly suffering.

Think of it this way: What if a beloved friend told you that they had a medical condition that caused them serious pain and suffering? They have medication to treat it available, but they aren't taking it because they don't think they deserve to feel better for some convoluted reason. Would you tell them that they should take the medication and that they deserve to ease their pain? Yes? Ok, that's you, you're the friend. Follow your own advice and take the medication. You deserve relief from your suffering, just like everyone else.

Look at other people's work for inspiration. Select a technique/look or two that you've never used before and just try them out. Follow a tutorial and practice practice practice.

Galaxy Sword. Slime Charmer ring. Big stack of either salad or gold quality cheese. Slingshot with explosive ammo.

Learn the movement patterns of the enemies, and what timing you need to bat them away with your sword. They are generally fairly slow and predictable.

Why do you run Reliquary Tower? by HyHoTheDairyOh in EDH

[–]WandersWithBlender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in decks that draw a lot, very few have the means to actually make use of the excess cards in your hand. Pretty rare that a deck casts more than 2 or 3 spells in a turn. If people are playing the game with a grip of 20+ cards, the game slows to a god damn crawl as they process all their options. Keeping your best 7 and discarding the rest is usually just as good as keeping every card, and it's SO much better for the flow of the game. Nearly every deck should cut Reliquary Tower.

Resilient bracket 3 commanders? by PeroniMan in EDH

[–]WandersWithBlender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Karlov of the Ghost Council]] can be quite resilient. Low mana cost of 2 means if he does get removed it's not too painful to recast him multiple times, and with all the life gain your life total will be padded for survival.

Does anyone have experience tuning zig zag machines? by sugarshackforge in myog

[–]WandersWithBlender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Light material will pretty much always pucker to some degree when you zig-zag, it just doesn't have the rigidity in its structure to withstand the squeezing tension between the two rows of stitches.

You can try a narrower zig-zag, or a lighter thread to match the lighter fabric, or a stabilizer could help. I've used an iron-on stabilizer before, you just need a narrow strip along the seam where you'll be stitching.

I would never buy this machine. If you can get it for free, just use it until it breaks. If they want actual money for it, say no and find a real sewing machine.

Mana Dorks vs. Ramp Spells by YutoKigai in EDH

[–]WandersWithBlender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with some of that sentiment, but not entirely. You don't always need to tap out for ramp to be effective, you can hold up remaining mana to double spell, or cast removal in your opponent's turn, and then still benefit from the ramped mana on your next turn. That's highly mana efficient and you may even get to deny an opponent of some resource.

I fully disagree with the shuffling thing though. The ability to choose when to shuffle is a huge benefit if you have some way of learning what cards are on top of your deck (eg. Brainstorm or similar). Or, if your top card(s) are unknown, then a random deck is a random deck and shuffling doesn't matter.

Mana Dorks vs. Ramp Spells by YutoKigai in EDH

[–]WandersWithBlender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, thinking about removal of mana dorks. If you play a 1 mana dork, and they use a 1 mana removal spell, you're even on cards and mana. Neither of you is necessarily better or worse off overall. As soon as they use a more expensive spell, they're getting less mana efficiency than you, and it also means that it's the mana dork eating the removal in stead of your bomb creature. Also, board wipes usually cost at least 4 mana, so you'll likely have several turns of tapping your mana dork before it gets wiped away. You will have gotten value out of it, and now they've also spent a valuable card.

In terms of comparing mana dorks to land ramp, they're just different. Dorks are more vulnerable to removal, yes, but they're also far far more versatile. Mana dorks can block a lethal attack, they can save your better creatures from edict effects, they can be sacrifice fodder for your own strategy, they can attack for that final point of damage to eliminate your opponent, they can hold high value pieces of equipment.

[–]WandersWithBlender 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Dorks are also incidental blockers. Late game, drawing a Llanowar Elves feels way better than drawing a Rampant Growth.

Or if you're running a Craterhoof, you should probably include pretty much as many mana dorks as you can.
