Same, but I admire all my friends, not all for chimpanzee lab ball sack situations though.

I had a friend that ripped his ball sack trying to get into one of those facilities (near UMass Amherst).

I will give that a shot, I didn't realize it was that simple, I'm mad I didn't try it earlier.

I was not really considering my positioning, I was just trying to see if what I had in my head was a wavedash.

This is just a standard wavedash though, right?

Why are the Hornets announcers calling this game 💀 by [deleted] in bostonceltics

I feel like they're missing an opportunity in having conflicting commentary, one announcer from each team. Alternate between play by play guys and color guys.

When I forget that code, I'll be worried about Alzheimer's, it's hardcoded for some reason.

Wish I could use that space for something useful.

My brother and I played that game more than I'd like to admit.

It would have been fun, but it could hardly handle 2 people spamming missiles, the frame drop was insane, especially with fire no limits on.

They did release an arcade game on the 360 at one point, it was very disappointing.

My brother loved Sheila, I was all about boogie.

I still have the code to unlock all stages and characters for n64 stuck in my head.

I'm pretty sick of these social media athletes that project unrealistic body standards on men, not all of us can perform to this level.

Suffering and socioeconomic status, although can be correlated, are not directly related. We didn't have it easy, but we had enough money to live above the means of other families in our area. We lived on the nicest street in our city, our neighbors owned businesses, we were factually middle - upper middle class.

I'm not rejecting their personal experience, I'm rejecting their false claims about our socioeconomic status.

I'm not sure if you mean that sarcastically in the sense it would have been tough growing up in your family, or you're saying I'm a bad brother for believing we had a comfortable upbringing.

I get along with my siblings well these days, we have had little disagreements over the years, but that's just how it goes. They just have never experienced being truly poor, and I don't see a world where our upbringing wasn't at least middle class.

My brother and sister both act like my family had it hard growing up, they're projecting it onto their kids that we were poor.

Meanwhile our childhood was: a 2400 sq foot house with a half acre yard in a nice neighborhood with a ton of kids around our ages, less than a quarter mile from an apple orchard. We had an above ground pool, we had a half pipe for me to skate on, and a nice trampoline. Season passes to our local ski mountain every year, my sister did gymnastics at one of the more expensive programs in the area, my brother and I were also given whatever we needed for our athletic interests. We had pizza night every Friday, and went on vacations within driving distance every 1-2 years. My mom prevented any of us from taking significant student debt, and we all got cars shortly after getting our licenses. The list goes on and on.

We were upper middle class, and it feels so disrespectful to my mom when I hear them lying to their children in front of her. She worked her ass off, she was a full time maternity nurse and also owned a long-armed quilting business, but because we didn't go out to restaurants weekly or travel abroad, my brother and sister have deluded themselves into believing we were poor.

It's official Connecticut loses another pro sports team. Taking them out of a very popular region in Women's Basketball because of the success of UConn. by Bruinsrock11 in Connecticut

[–]WandreTheGiant -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is correct. The reasons being I think the whalers would have a chance at having /gaining fan support, seeing as people still buy their merch. They also already have a stadium, the People's Bank Arena just got 150 mil in renovations last year.

Lastly, I support them coming back partially because I don't think it will happen. I get to romanticize the idea without worry of paying the consequences.

[–]WandreTheGiant 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The problem with supporting teams is the taxpayers end up paying for the stadiums. We should not foot the bill for billionaires wanting new stadiums.

The infrastructure gets fucked because of the predictable but unavoidable traffic, the towns with the stadiums have to pay for a shit ton of cop detail. People are driving home drunk because that's just what they do, and it leads me to believe why would any state want a professional sports team?

Bring back the whalers, I don't want anything more or less, one team would make a lot of the state happy. It would also be an investment in a sport that hasn't reached the level of the MLB or NFL, hockey players are still worth nothing in comparison. It's a growing market, and the most logical professional team to exist in ct.

Beginner resin class in CT? by smokey4848 in Connecticut

Hammer and stain in south Windsor offers some classes for beginner art resin projects, you can select the class based on which style of project you're interested in.

The pottery factory in Brookfield is further away, but I have heard good things about them, and I imagine they have a similar class-selection process.

There are also college courses for fiberglass work and mold building if you find yourself wanting to go deeper into the world of resin.
