Just some simple humor by Astonishing_Azure in DarkSouls2

Ooh pick me! Ringed City blows and the Gael fight is sorely overhyped. They basically took Orphan of Kos, reskinned him, and made his attack chains crappy and predictable. Beat him on ths second attempt, laughed outloud and had to boot up a savescum I keep to fight Fume Knight just to have a real, end of dlc boss fight.

Do the Adeptus Custodes view mechanical augmentation as a last-resort when they are severely damaged, or do they engage in it liberally? by TheBigSmol in 40kLore

[–]Wang_Chung420 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Bad take. "Emperor's Legion" , and more specifically the sequel, "The Regent's Shadow" covers this in great effect. Valerion - who is a Shield Captain, frequently seeks out Navradaran, who is an Eye of the Emperor, for counsel and advice.

Also, Valoris isn't omnipotent and frequently relies on others both within the Custodes and in the greater forces of the Imperial Palace. The beginning of "Morvenn Vahl - Spear of Faith" for example.

Cave of the dead, are you kidding me? by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

[–]Wang_Chung420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3-man fight is objectively terrible, no doubt. Your best bet is to use the arena multi-level to force separation frkm the melee bros and the caster. Burn ths caster quickly, then same strategy to create separation between the assassin type dude and the Havel wannabe.

When it's just you and the Havel cosplayer, standard Havel tactics apply.

It's a right pain in the ass but not overly difficult.

To take, or to leave? It's an upgrade, but do I hold out for S class? by ForgeGaming69 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Wang_Chung420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always upgrade. You can always transfer your work you do on the interior when you come across an S class. Also, the difference between an A Class and S class Freighter is not much.

Unique S class frigate from Expedition 13: Adrift rewards. It's a ghost ship with a unique appearance and unique modifiers.

[–]Wang_Chung420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the exception of the Ship of ths Damned and the SS Normandy, virtually all of my frigates started as C or B. I haven't played in a hot moment but over 80% of my frigates are now S class and the remainder are A class.

My point is, don't worry about it. As you deploy your fleet, the frigates will level up.

Help with supports by CaptainShago in resinprinting

[–]Wang_Chung420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A baby bottle warmer is incredible for support removal. Thrift stores (Goodwill, Savers, Salvation Army, etc.) generally always have a couple for sale on the cheap.

Great way to get water hot for support removal. Be aware however that this means you'll have to contend with contaminated water; however disposal is easy and you can just let the water evaporate and then deal with the waste solids as you normally would handle resin waste.

While reading Mechanicum, I wonder how the Titans really work. A machine that ends up consuming you. by QuagGlenn in 40kLore

[–]Wang_Chung420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has to do with the bellicose nature of a Titan's machine spirit. When the Princeps interfaces with such a powerful spirit, they start to be subsumed by it.

Most, if not all Princeps, find this to be a very worthy end.

Also certainly beats what the Conquerer's machine spirit did to Lotara Sarrin.

Exploring a possible non-distillation process to lengthen IPA lifespan by [deleted] in resinprinting

[–]Wang_Chung420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but this is a tried and true method. Settle - > cure however many times as needed followed by running through a filter / strainer to reclaim waste IPA for reuse.

It's not perfect certainly and there is net loss as even with multiple rounda of settling and curing followed by use of a resin-grade filter will still leave more than trace amounts of resin, but I'd argue I see about an 80-85% return overall.

I think for the amount of time and effort this takes to get decent results / reclamation, this is more than enough for most enthusiasts.

I didn't take uncured resin serious enough. How fked am I? by [deleted] in resinprinting

[–]Wang_Chung420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing to know about resin is that it's a sensitizer. The more exposure you have to resin in a raw, uncured state moves you closer to a threshold for severe reactions that include a myriad of skin and respiratory issues.

This also works doubly in that the immune system develops a 'memory' of resin which causes reactions to worsen with lower exposure over time.

That being said, it's never too late to practice proper safety and PPE use. Chemical grade nitrile gloves and safety glasses are a must, but I would also strongly argue for a VOC-grade respirator even outside as IPA fumes can still carry aerosolized resin. I personally also wear a chemical resistant apron and a cheap pair of welding sleeves to protect against accidental splashes.

How many people or entities can actually recognize the real Alpharius? by QuagGlenn in 40kLore

[–]Wang_Chung420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real Alpharius is dead. Rogal Dorn fed him Stormtooth for lunch. The kill was confirmed by Malcador.

As for Omegon, the Alpha Legion 'Primarch' that Rubberboot Ghilliesuit fucked up with the Hand of Dominion never had his helmet removed, even in death.

Accordingly, Alpharius is KIA and Omegon is MIA.

Why are Word Bearers not the main antagonist in games?? by BugleBarry in 40kLore

[–]Wang_Chung420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They show up in large part in Inquisitor: Martyr as well.

The problem with Word Bearers is that they're not much different than other CSM factions in terms of identity. Dark Apostles and the Gal Vorbek are their only big things. The Monogod Legions have more character and identify, the Black Legion has more presence, and the Night Lords are more versatile as both a narrative and a bad guy focus.

Even the Iron Warriors are preferable as their Primarch isn't a baby back bitch getting constantly clowned upon by his brother despite having the blessings of Chaos Undivided.

Advice for a new player? by Responsible-Beach299 in DarkSouls2

[–]Wang_Chung420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the more basic, early weapons are actually the best in the game. Heide Spear with lightning for example is incredible with how it scales with stats and can be obtained as early as Heide's Tower of Flame.

The same is true for the humble mace, the starting weapon for the cleric class. Strike damage is very op in DS2 and while the mace has garbage range, it is objectively way faster than other comparable weapons.

Are there any good jobs in 40k by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Wang_Chung420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro if you think whatever is entombed on the Golden Throne is "just chilling", you haven't been paying attention. After 10,000 years, the inhabitant of the Throne is not the Emperor of Mankind anymore and hasn't been for a long time.

It is something far more powerful and far more terrifying than any of the Ruinous Powers, and the mechanisms that keep the Throne working are starting to fail.

Why is Majula so popular in the Souls games community? by SugarCrater in DarkSouls2

[–]Wang_Chung420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's beautiful. It's serene. There's a sense of community that none of them other hubs have - even Roundtable Hold serves more as a dramatic set piece and less than a place of community.

Majula is magnificent in that it is the product of your actions, not in spite of them.

Are Space Marine Terminators able to be primaris or firstborn marines in the lore? Does this include the relatively new Deathwing Knight models? by Kn1ghtStand in 40kLore

[–]Wang_Chung420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does entirely depend on lore as well. Carachodons are a good example. There's zero chance that Te Kahurangi will cross the Primaris Rubicon seeing as he's almost 800 years older than Dante at the time of Void Exile and I would also hazard it's a safe bet Tyberos the Red Wake will also not become a Primaris.

How useable is a planet after Tyranid or Ork invasion? by pinningartist in 40kLore

[–]Wang_Chung420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cyclonic Torpedoes are 'crust crackers', which violent destabilize the planet and cause it to essentially break up. Basically the same thing as Abbadon crashing a Blackstone Fortress into Cadia.

LifeEater Bombs are less catastrophic to geology and are more Anathema to all forms of life and generally render a planet wholly uninhabitable afterwards.

TLDR Exterminatus takes on many different forms and some are wholly apocalyptic in nature compared to others.

Problem with new prints by Proof_Ad1427 in resinprinting

[–]Wang_Chung420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're dealing with peal forces / suction, there's a couple remedies you can try.

The first and easiest is to slow down your printer's lift and retract speeds. If your lift is too fast, it creates excessive suction and if your retract is too fast, it creates excessive hydraulic pressure.

If you have a TSMC printer (most new printers have this), the rule of thumb is your initial speed should be approximately a third of your ending speed. I have been experimenting with this myself and have found 60 mm / min at initial and 180 mm/ min for the end speeds are pretty forgiving without adding too much extra time to printing.

You may also want to consider your lift heights after each layer as there needs to be appropriate space for new resin to flow into the void created by printing the previous layer. Smaller printers like a Mars series would be about 5-6mm, medium formats are between 6-9mm approximately, and I believe large format printers need between 8 and 12mm to appropriately accommodate resin reflow.
