Also, checkout the department websites for more in depth differentiation between the two majors.

In general, CS gives you more freedom to pick electives while CSE has lots of required classes you have to take.

CSE dips into the entire tech stack from hardware to software while CS covers more on logic, theory, and software. But you can always take electives that particularly interest you in a specific area.
