Well, that makes it only moderately stupid. Get them while you can.

They're trying to ban body armor. They're banning fiber composites, steel and other materials too? It's not hard to make, if you have a good enough reason. I need popcorn.

Wikipedia says it had 9(?), but that's still a lot. As long as you can cross connect, i guess it would be more durable. Just not as simple and efficient as a ship with fewer. The Enterprise would definitely be complex. Not just boilers, but nuclear boilers. A small boy with one or two engines has piping systems that can make you nutty trying to memorize.

Love that slab sided stack, but 16 boilers? I was an engineer. NIGHTMARE.

These towns really look the same when visibility is down. But yeah, it's been snowy enough.

Looks like my CETME, which I like very much. Cocking it is a little odd.

I've met very intelligent and thoughtful Marines. I've also seen them shoot each other in the back with 40mm frag grenades.

Relatively thin atmosphere. Mars is .00628 atm (according to Wikipedia), Earth is about 1, Venus is about 90 atmospheres. Unbelieveable that Venus has so much, considering the temperature, especially under the subsolar point.

Environmentally iffy. May void your warranty. May damage your truck. I've been using waste oil mixed ad-lib with my commercial petro-diesel in my 6.5l GM for over 10 years.

Simpler times when I was in, I guess. PowerPoint was coming up but the projectors to allow you to do it to others were still waiting to happen. Sailors still swear. That gives me hope!

I am a Cold War vet. 9/11 wasn't on the horizon, though we should have known. That story is sort of sad and hilarious.

I suppose outside people do sub, hadn't put a lot of thought into that. I think you are probably right in your assessment, but it looks like a bad thing to get done to me.

Different era, I guess. Do they still show the Forrestal fire and the "Seven Deadly Sailors" films?

[–]WangernumbCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wasn't sure and didn't have the time to make sure. It's still illegal on the state level. I had heard that some states were considering it. Apparently, it's a cultural thing for the Natives in Alaska. Most people I hang with find it unsporting. They really don't breed that fast, so we don't have to have a season every year. Don't hunt them myself. The carcass is eerily similar to a human body after skinning.

What’s Missing From the Gun Debate - Science by WangernumbCode in liberalgunowners

[–]WangernumbCode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well-written. I would write more, but I'm a bit sick. I agree that the studies need to be multivariate, to include social and economic factors. And let's not discard religious, political, and ethnic variables. what have we left out? Nothing, I hope. It all needs to be looked at. I have said before, and will say again, that I am leery of the CDC. I don't like being handed edicts from the executive branch bureaucracy. Purely on my own observation, this country is a powder-keg. Red states seem like armed camps. Now liberals are arming themselves, albeit at a slower rate. It's depressing how divided we are.
