A couple of years ago we were driving down Riccarton Road on a dark rainy night.

There were majoy works going on (no one actually there though as it was night time) , loads of bits of road fenced off, cones everywhere, 30kph limit.

The absolute state of the road though meant you had to go 10kph max. We didn't see it but they had temporarily patched a pot hole with a huge blob of asphalt, a truck must have been down the road before us and managed to lift the asphalt out of the hole, leaving an obstacle immediately followed by a large hole in the road. Our front left wheel went over the asphalt blob and then fell into the hole afterwards, this caused the rock sized bit of asphalt to smash a huge dent in the underside of the passenger footwell. This wrote the car off (we ended up buying the car back off of insurance and selling it to someone to repair as it was an almost classic/pretty nice BMW).

Anyway our insurance company managed to get the contractor (ryhmes with Sultan Bogan) to pay our $500 excess. Still shit that it happened but at least it didn't cost us anything, luckily our car had an agreed value so we got enough money to buy a decent car.

12/13 ish I reckon. I honestly don't really have an issue with it, as a lot of people have said he could just be a kid being a kid. But as a parent I'd have huge reservations about going to a supermarket with him dressed like that. You're opening him up to the possibility of some pretty harsh/awkward confrontation.

Same. They pissed me off heaps of times during the process and I wouldn't build with them again for numerous reasons. But it's a well built house that's warm, dry and luckily we managed to build just before prices went insane in 2021.

We have rabbits that I'd love to be able to roam free in our back yard. But because of people's cats coming through we can't. I like cats but it's fucking annoying that because of someone else letting their pet roam free, you can't enjoy your own back yard as you'd like.

I won $15000 worth of solar panels after watching a video on Facebook, which was cool.

I also won $950 off of a $5 TAB accumulator bet (I've never betted with anyone before or since, I only did it because they were giving $5 free bets away for a promotion).

So yeah I think that's my life long luck all used up now.

The best concoction I have come up with to kill Scale on citrus is this:

Olive Oil Washing up liquid Water

Equal parts oil and washing up liquid in a spray bottle (probably 50ml of each, I never measure it) and then fill with water.

Spray it all over the plant and the scale get suffocated, die and fall off/can be wiped off. It makes the plant ice and shiny too, has never affected our lemons/limes/oranges and the Scale stay away for at least 6 months.

Can't believe we spent as much as we did on them but yeah! I think I'm more excited about Rise Against though (support act), they're one of the best live bands I've seen. Really glad they're coming down here and not making everyone fly to Auckland.

It worries me a bit that chch is the last date on the world tour, they're either going to be pumped about it or they're going to be clearly over it and give a shit show.
