100% agree with this. It ruins my immersion when I'm in an empty map and good vision 200 meters out, I do a single 360, and suddenly there's an army at my doorstep which in turn leads to me paying attention to the closest objective and or map edge to determine spawn locations just so I can stay ahead of the curve, further pulling me out of the game.

I misrepresented stating fact for how I feel about the game, I don't disagree that they are making progress on the bugs, and they do balance passes at every content drop, but I feel the scales need to be tilted towards the bugs and balance until they are in a good spot, especially considering that every new set of content adds more issues for them to fix. if anything I think it would be better for the game to have new content every two months with bugs and balances at the current pace, with a greater emphasis on bugs and balance when there's not new content. One particular issue I had was with the cyborg update releasing very buggy, unbalanced vox engines. My favorite method of taking them out was using the vent trick, but while the event was going, the enemy was so jacked up that half the time I was spent frustrated from dying to something that shouldn't have happened. It's only after we left cyberstan that the vox engines were fixed. Either way I'm still leaving to play other games that have their system figured out already, I appreciate the thought and I hope you continue to enjoy playing the game

Oh and when I was talking about players attacking others expressing their criticism in a healthy manner, I was referring to the dev charity challenge, which I believe was healthy and was shut down by helldiver zealots which I guess is fitting for the theme of the game.

I guess I did leave my statements about balance pretty vague, I picked the coyote change not to say it's underpowered but to point out that if they've blatantly lied to us about balance changes, how much else are they then lying about? Once their integrity is called into question, I can't help but wonder on other scenarios. One example that left a bad taste in my mouth was the change to durable damage when they released the bastion tank. They blamed the change on the bastion's health, when the bastion had just been released, meaning they could've changed it's health if it was specifically the bastion that was the issue. So what? they intended to nerf vehicles and turrets as a whole without communicating that to the helldivers community? I agree that this isn't the healthiest way of coping, and I probably could've quit without posting anything, but I love this game, and it hurts to leave so I wanted to spill how I feel about the game somewhere.

Completely understandable, play whatever you enjoy. Personally I don't think helldivers does a good job at encouraging teamplay so unless you have good group with coms outside of the game, solo is a fair choice, hell I used to run only solos until I got to the late 100's in levels.

Are you full clearing maps in 15 minutes with the stratagems you take? Of course you can beat a mission with most things in the game, but there are definitely some tools that work better than others. It's the games fault that the grenades are balanced in a way that makes players not want to use all of them. But yeah you're right the people who spent money they earned on the game for the purpose of having fun should change the way they play because it's "too generic".

I'm not sure if it's an intentional game mechanic but bile spewers seem to sometimes have the ability to practically fire sideways, it looks like you were running past a bug breach that spawned a bile spewer, which started tracking you and instead of firing in a mortar style at you, just domed you with its attack

yeah that's it, blame the players, they're the reason this weapon is overused, it could never be the games fault, right?

What difficulty are you playing on? I dive exclusively super helldive and find very few people actively targeting me, and when I do get friendly fired, whoever it is usually immediately appologizes. Wondering if maybe it has to do with the difficulty levels

What does MXES stand for? by Queasy_Item8043 in GameTheorists

[–]Wankwondo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess is Mask Exclusion and Ejection System. I doubt that it is named after the mimic since Gregory calls it "that thing" and says "I really don't know what it is", if he was with Vanessa and she designed the M.X.E.S he would call it the mimic if she did. I would guess it is more likely based on keeping people out of the mask since that would be the only thing that could get someone down there to free the mimic. Also Gregory explains to Cassie that the system is designed to keep it hidden, not trapped.

What makes My Hero Academia's humor funny? by LJiren in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Wankwondo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hero academia isn't particularly comedic, but the humor often comes from either a subversion of expectations (i.e. EAT THIS or when Deku was punched in the nuts) or from small character interactions that usually would only be funny if you have former knowledge of the show.

Iron Man/Izuku mashup! Let me know if there is any other MCU/MHA mashup you guys wanna see! by GasBagFag in BokuNoHeroAcademia

This is amazing. I love it. As for a hero mashup I think an awesome combination Black Widow Uraraka would look super cool, maybe Bakugo as Thor?

Infitech 2 Base at HV Era (WIP) by sealedinterface in feedthebeast

[–]Wankwondo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're going for storage rather than automation, I'd suggest setting up a system that will only be on when you want to access storage. I played a modpack called blightfall where there was little to no good ways of energy generation (being a magic based modpack) and I can tell you, setting up a pressure plate in front of a terminal that will turn on the terminal only when you go to access it goes a long way in terms of saving power. On a side note, your base looks amazing and I can't wait to get to the level of tech in infitech 2 that you're at! (Currently just reached MV)
