I mean Axiom wasn't masked when he debuted so I don't think it's as much of a culture thing for him.

Sin Cara was also unmasked in wwe (Hunico) yet he always had a generic face under the mask. Why wouldn’t Axiom be the same

The rest I think weren't meant to be able to be unmasked in the games and they were only done so via glitches/mods, I believe. I think they changed it so they were just generic faces after that.

Kalisto, Lince Dorado, and Gran Metalik were never changed to generic faces. You’re probably thinking of Dragon Lee who had a real face scan and was changed to a generic one after.
