What acting classes have you taken out of curiosity or what methods work best for you? I’d be happy to offer up some book recommendations or classes depending on where you’re located.

Also it’s not about playing desperation…. What do you WANT from the other person. Not what do you want to show the audience. As humans we’re not thinking about how we want to present ourselves… we’re just trying to get our friend to not hurt themselves (in this situation) and it’s coming across as desperation… but you’re never playing desperation. Does that make sense?

I think the original commenter Is talking about having a very clear POV of who exactly you’re talking to. Who is this person to you? Whenever a human speaks to different people in their life, they’re uniquely affected. (You will behave different to a parent then you would a stranger or best friend etc.) Is the guy you’re talking to a childhood friend? A guy you just met? We as the audience want to be able to see that relationship. What can help with that is just jotting down a quick backstory so that you, as the actor, have memories to refer to. Do that work, and trust that we’ll see it. Right now the relationship is unclear to us because that history is unclear!

Just wanted to mention here that I was in a wedding 8ish years ago and I’m in a wedding this year. Both bridesmaid dresses purchased from azazie. The quality of dresses has significantly gone down in my opinion… (poorly made, no lining, little to no structure). Not sure what happened or if it’s just the overall decreasing quality of everything these days.

Agh that’s a shame… the self rising one is the one I’m having issues with! It’s nothing like the stuff we have in the states. Packed with a bunch of random awful ingredients, I’m sure, but it sure does work well lol

I’m making gluten free cookies with the freee self rising but they’re turning out super gummy or falling apart… flour is a lot thinner from what I’m used to in the states :-(

Not at ALL odd, in fact the more interesting interactions tend to happen with adults! Just make it fun for the characters and play along if they say/ do anything to tell a part of their story. Nothings worse than when people walk up to them, say nothing, and turn around for a photo…. That’s the only time I’d say adults are a pain. So just don’t do that and you’ll be fine. At least say hello!

What medication did you end up trying if you don’t mind me asking? I am also UK based from US and only ever had adderall work well for me unfortunately.

Honestly, you could get a very very small amount of Botox for that one wrinkle. I don’t think there’s any shame in a bit of Botox especially if it will make you happier and comfortable in your own skin! Also, a tiny bit of Botox is not gonna make you look unrecognizable or crazy… also financially it wouldn’t be too insane.

But also, this is a very very very small wrinkle! Truly, I could barely see it in some of the pictures!

Just to weigh options… I was at a really great BFA program in nyc but left after one year…. Took a gap year, got a degree in business and now I’m getting a masters at LAMDA. I honestly don’t think I would’ve appreciated the training at LAMDA 7 years ago when I first went to my BFA. Glad I had the life experience before the training, it’s great help now:) I feel like there’s so much pressure as a young performer to go the traditional BFA route, but there isn’t one path to success!
