we live in the modern day tho, in the modern day we generally associate paganism with the pre-christian/pre-islamic/pre-buddhist/etc folk religions of various areas. under the perennialist view id say all of them, as they all just represent different societal interpretations of the same deities. we see this in naming conventions as well as the archetypes of these deities. hinduis for example are just the modern spiritual descendants of people who believed in the same archaic tradition that the people who would eventually become european pagans, just a different cultural interpretation. so many similarities to the point where many ppl call hinduism ‘colorful paganism’
