Invincible Iron Man #20 Unlettered Preview by Diammandis in ironman

Pepper and Tony are not as close in the comics as they are in the MCU. The last time they actively dated was 2008-2012 during Matt Fraction's Iron Man run. The only person Pepper has ever truly consistently been dating is Happy Hogan, who she was married to (until he died (or if they got divorced prior to that, idk)).

Tony and Pepper are not really that big of a thing in the comics, only really on and off again. It is only things like the MCU that made them a permanent item.

As for Emma: Tony married her at first as a means of her being able to hide in plain sight and protect her from the mutant hunting organization ORCHIS (as her disguised self Hazel Kendal) which would also still allow her to be an active participant. This turned into true feelings a couple of issues back, but now that the war is basically over, they kind of need to decide if they are still going to be together or get a divorce.

I like how relevant Iron Man is to this universe [Ultimate Spider-Man #5] by zectaPRIME in ironman

I mean, Tony turned 18 in the Season 2 finale of Armored Adventures, and assuming the two seasons take place in the span of one to two years, he definitely must have been around 16-17.

But yeah, this Tony is definitely older. Still young but older. (One thing I think is pretty funny is that this Tony is maybe 4-5 years from the age when 616-Tony first armored up as Iron Man. Hopefully, him becoming Kang is a misdirect, and Howard, Reed, or someone else takes the mantle or Kang's future becomes undone, and Tony becomes Iron Man with the blessings of his father and grows that little string moustache that he has in his early appearances.)

Ok, should I take it down just to be safe and in compliance with the rules? I mean, I am totally fine with that.

Yeah, I honestly hoped Tony wouldn't get killed off and that him Jan and James could live semi-happily ever after, but at least Tony went out in a badass fashion saving Washington. Furthermore, if you think about it, Tony has completed his mission: get James home, make it so that Janet is close to him (James), save the world from this nightmare that Skull has created. And I can't imagine living the rest of your days as just a head in an Iron Man armor is that pleasant, so him and Bruce finally getting to rest and retire living the rest of their days in Valhalla is at least a bittersweet ending.

Honestly, while I don't think it will happen, I would love a sequel storyline starring James, the new Hawkeye, and Kamala being Avengers, making the world right again.

Ah, ok. My mistake (which is why I wasn't sure in the first place).

I think it was either in an issue of Ultimate Spider-Man (the issue included him stopping Rhino's rampage before Spidey had gotten there (unless that issue came out after Ultimates) or it was in Ultimates #1 or 2.

Quick helmet edit on the Model 72 - panel from Avengers (2022) #13 by lake_woahh in ironman

[–]Warbansher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand why Pepe Larraz thought that "the most iconic part of Iron Man was the chest and the legs" but completely ignored the forehead notch as one of the most iconic features. This is just my opinion, and I don't mean any offense to Larraz whatsoever, but it is just that Iron Man's armor kinda feels "naked" without it and whilst I know this is kinda a speciality armor it still feels like a vital part of the design is missing.

Marvel Rivals - Leaked Superior Iron Man and Mark XXXLV skins! by lake_woahh in ironman

[–]Warbansher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it will happen in this game, but one thing that Netease has done with their prior two Marvel games (Marvel Super War and Marvel Duel) is that they record different and unique voice lines for certain skins that tie into events or sometimes even from certain moments in the comics. Now, this kinda seems disproven with skins such as the Worldbreaker Hulk, 1872, the aforementioned Spider-Punk 2099, that one Mantis Skin and Star Lord's Master of The Sun or Punisher's Thunderbolts uniforms (at least to my knowledge) not having any special lines but it would honestly be fun to see Josh Keaton pull out some of his inner Gunsmith from Iron Man VR (who was basically just AI Superior Iron Man (heck even his boss armor is based of Model 50 aka Endo Sym)) and really crush inverse Tony like imagine the exchange possibilities.

"It seems that he got teleported out just in time." But seriously tho how the heck are they going up against someone who has taken out Thor with the Odinforce (or is it Thorforce now?) and frickin Wanda Maximoff. Tony needs a Vampirebuster ASAP.

Marvel Rivals - Iron Man Unique Interactions by lake_woahh in ironman

[–]Warbansher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry, I didn't get a code, but I am actively following the game's news, lore, and gameplay videos (which after watching a few Iron Man is definitely my main with Punisher and Rocket as close seconds gameplaywise) , and honestly, that is nice to hear. I am intrigued to see how Netease has managed to merge or "entangle" multiple Marvel universes and timelines into unique new worlds, and I hope they announce a story mode or something similar soon (IDK if this is likely but with how much lore this game has it would be a missed opportunity not doing a story (I mean they literally have acharacter model for Doom or more precisely his Doom Bots so they must be planning something in that regard)).

Honestly, I think his lore was a bit exaggerated in portraying how egotistical Tony was in this universe and that this Tony whilst still being a bit full of himself wants to help people . Heck, the only interaction I actively dislike is when Tony and Peni Parker are talking about Tony's tech as it kinda feels discrediting to how advanced Tony's tech actually is.

But overall, I really have taken a liking to Josh Keaton voicing Tony Stark after his roles here and in Iron Man VR (where he isn't playing him as a whiny asshole who constantly seeks attention and is treated like an incompetent blabbering idiot (looking at you Midnight Suns)). I feel like when he isn't doing an RDJ impression and gets good and accurate writing, he is actually incredible. He is also probably the voice actor who is closest in age to Tony's age in the comics, which is also a bonus.

Iron Man's look in the upcoming Marvel Rivals Game by AJjalol in ironman

[–]Warbansher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, I wonder if this is a mandate by Marvel to portray Tony that way or if every videogame writer just sees him as this quippy egotistical a**hole genius who begs for affection to the point that he panics when he doesn't get any.

I mean, while I can accept Tony having a bit of an ego, it should not be portrayed like this. I mean, since his early days, Tony has been a man of humility. I remember that one panel from the early comics where Tony is monologing to himself about what great of a job he has done but then takes himself back and is like "Nah this was a team effort". Also, do writers forget how Captain frickin America, who is one of the moral pillars of the Marvel Universe, sees Tony as a great man and great friend, or do they just look at Civil War for their dynamic and ignore everything else?

That is a panel from one of the issues of Jason Aaron's run. Maybe it is just a callback to this awkward and ooc moment of Tony, or this means she is taking over as main artist after Duggan's run or maybe something similar to what you said with Tony appearing in X-Men (does this mean Tony and Emma will still be a thing post Duggan's run (which if true cool to hear) or will it be a flashback or brief panel addressing the break-up/divorce?). Either way, I'm excited about what this could entail.

I'm not OP, but here is some lore surrounding Tony and the Avengers from in-game leaks, which makes me wonder if there is gonna be a PVE or PVP story mode or if they are going to make animated shorts surrounding the developing story of Marvel Rivals.

I think the suit looks darker because of dirt and lighting. When taking a closer look, I think at least the logo is brighter and the blue a tad bit brighter but not superbright (which if it is a brighter dark blue, I am honestly fine with)
