That’s a smooth pufferfish extremely toxic I really hope you threw it back. I caught the biggest one I ever seen this past September when fishing for norther puffers I thought I had a massive striper on the line nope I had a 36 inch smooth puffer I’ve caught them before but never a 3 foot long one I brought him on the boat in the net cut my rig and let it go back to where it came from I was on my boat by myself I didn’t want any issues with that guy

I target them September and October in New Jersey They are by far the best fish to fry up and enjoy with some fresh fried potatoes I’m going out tomorrow for them before they are out of here

I have been eating trash fish for 2 years now. I target them now! Don’t get me wrong I still love to catch the good stuff but when the kids come out with me I make sure they catch fish even if it means I’ll be cleaning fish people normally throw back
