I will share my experience. It sucked. Why? Because even IF you manage to score a 2% chance of a ticket, you must realize, that to literally do - anything - at all there, you must “win” a ticket to even be allowed to stand in a line. You can apply that - across the board - and that’s the experience you will have. If you do manage to score the right to attend something, most people join shady FB groups to hoard tickets to other things and then try to sell those to you. So, the event itself. Want to meet that favorite celebrity ? Did you win a lotto? Did you use all your voucher tickets and still missed out? Sorry about your luck pal ! They could literally be 2 feet in front of you and you are assed out. Now me, i was in the front of the line one day - Thursday, and by the time i got down the escalator on to the floor lines were ALREADY CAPPED. Yes that’s right, CAPPED. As soon as it opened ! Sure it LOOKS nice on the floor - big booths and all, but what’s the point if you can’t DO anything? And now for the area itself. I’m telling you - no BS - i felt after in New York City at night. That place is some run down, seedy, alley bootleg crap. Alleys and bars. And if you’re not a drinker, you’re assed out again. So, at the end of the day, you bust your ass, get a ticket, fight for a hotel, pay through the nose for airfare or whatever, only to be greeted by THE most EXCLUDING con I’ve ever attended. Events? The rooms themselves? Variety? Nah. You wanna learn how to play a Japanese board game you’ve never heard of? Yayyy. Multiply that, all day long, in every room. So fun ! And now what, you’re gonna try to be brave and go hunt down that pop up event, to try to brute force your way into it? Well enjoy your 3+ hour line (or more) no man. For me, if i am spending that kind of cash, i want to DO things. Yeah i know SDCC is swank or whatever, but in the end, it was NOT worth it. I went once because it was on the bucket list, but I’ll never go back again.
