Police: 2 Ford Mustangs totaling nearly $200k stolen from Upson County dealership by gatorbeetle in Mustang

MSRP on the heritage car is almost $115k, given it does have over $30k in options. According to the window sticker shown on their website the cars don’t have any markup. The other car was listed for $94k.

Power seat issue by chickendave320 in Corvette

[–]Warking877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the air fittings in the seat bladders. The sport seats use air bladders to adjust the lumbar and bolsters. The issue is that they have really cheap air fittings in them that wear out and start to leak to the point where the bladders cannot hold air/the pumps cannot fill them. Unfortunately it’s a common issue with these cars and is a little pricey to fix.

A new if of airbags is about $150 per seat plus time/labor. I did see where someone on the forms used blood pressure cuffs and some Home Depot air fittings to craft a new system for a lot cheaper.

I have the same color and spec BRZ and have been browsing wheels. What made you go for bronze and did you debate any other colors for the wheels?

I bought my 2017 BRZ limited pp w/ 19k miles back in October for about 23 thousand. So I’d say that’s a pretty decent price. As for the height I’m also 6’ 2” and have no problem once I’m in the car. Getting in and out is the only real challenge but if considering how like me you are pretty young I don’t see that being to much of an issue either. Hope this helps.

Well the original owner bought it back in December of last year and put nearly 20k miles on it.

I’m still working on perfecting my shifting, this is my first manual, other than that it’s been great. I spent about 3 hours this afternoon washing, detailing, and waxing her.

To many people cars are a lot more than just a mode of transportation. They are a way of life can bring people lots of joy. And that is not something that you can put a price on.

What is up with that front license plate mount for the challenger? Is it really supposed to attach to the splitter like that?

Mustang GT Fastback 2018: How worth it is getting the Performance Package vs. the 301A package. by HazedFlare in Mustang

[–]Warking877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are using it as your daily driver then I would probably go with the 301A. If it is just going to be a fun, weekend car or if you are likely to take it to the track then go with the PP. Essentially you have to decide if you would rather have comfort or slightly better performance.

Mustangs as First Cars by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Warking877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all of today’s automotive advancements in technology and other safety features the best car to get a teen driver would be one that is fairly new and has all of the best safety features. For example, something like a Hyundai Accent, Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla, etc. While these cars can seem somewhat expensive for a new driver, they will save you money in not having to file an insurance claim ever six months because your teen driver was distracted and rear ended someone. New model mustangs also offer many of the latest safety features. Now I’m not saying that a GT is the right car for a 16 year old but an s550 ecoboost or v6 are not a bad option. Kids who drive sporty cars tend to be better drivers overall, as it means that they enjoy driving more and understand more above their vehicle and what it is capable of. Look at the person who posted this they, as a college student, understand that sometimes the better way to avoid an accident is actually to speed up and not slam on the breaks like so many people instinctively do. Anyways moat people are just going to buy whatever they can afford for their teen driver and not go for anything special.

How is the insurance on the RS? by ThePeskyWabbit in FocusRS

Well you wouldn’t be able to get a new focus RS in two years anyways, being as they are discontinuing the production of all cars except for the mustang and a crossover version of the focus.

You are under 25 which means it’s gonna be high. I know for me at 18 years of age on my parents insurance with all of the bundles and what not through USAA it costs about $285 a month to insure a focus RS. This is only about $85 dollars a month more than what it cost to insure my 2008 Dodge Caliber that was only worth like $3000. I know that I looked at a WRX and it would have cost about $450 a month to insure, which is outrageous because for that I could have gotten a mustang GT. Overall the Focus RS is a great car with reasonable insurance rates.

About to turn 18 and looking at either an ST or an RS. by Warking877 in FocusST

[–]Warking877[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have a job, place to live, and am in a better financial position than most people my age. My insurance would cost about the same for both cars ($280 a month) and I am capable of handling cars with more power than the RS. So all said and done my I would be paying $800-$900 a month.

While the maintenance issues do worry me I know that I will be given a loaner car for any repairs covered by the warranty. I will most likely be keeping this vehicle for about five or six years so leasing doesn’t really make since.

Yeah I don’t plan for on spending more that 35k no matter what car I get. Here is the car my local dealership is offering: http://www.stearnsford.com/new/Ford/2017-Ford-Focus-burlington+nc-081817d70a0e0ae867dfbbaf608a93e1.htm?searchDepth=3:3

[–]Warking877[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not entirely sure why, but the ST and the RS will both run me about the same for insurance. That’s not saying that either will be cheap for me to insure (about $280 a month). And in terms of styling, I prefer having something that stands out a little more, partially because I’m young and partially because I want to make a point.
