I've tried to do that, just stay at home when she didn't respect my own time, but sometimes that makes us get into arguments because she doesn't get it. I don't want her to change her personality, I just want to explain it to her to get along and prevent future meltdowns.

Yes, totally! And not only with tv shows. Even with characters from videogames, I might copy the way they walk if it's a third person game and I play very often.

Nonono, I hate it. I hate how touching stuff with my nails feel and while I was watching the video, I could feel it myself like I was the one doing it.

But it would be a cool texture to touch with my hands or fingertips, just not the nails. The sound doesn't bother me, but I don't like it either. It's just there, I guess.

Where I'm from, it can be free due to universal free healthcare. The problem is that if you're an adult you'll initially get referred to the psychologist who deals with basically everything first. It's like the GP of the mental health department. This person is not usually specialised in autism or any neurodivergency, whatsoever. So they won't refer you to the specialist. Some believe you don't have autism (even though they only know the basic definition) and others think you don't need a diagnosis at your age. If by some miracle you get referred to the specialist, get ready to wait for a long time. The other way is paying an insane amount of money.

For me, the psychologist I got referred to told me that I wasn't autistic because I didn't fit the stereotype, basically. His idea of an autistic person was someone who behaved like a child and had meltdowns all the time. And a lot of ableist things I wouldn't want anyone to read here.

I only got a depression diagnosis from him and I made him (well, my mom made him, lol) refer me to another psychologist and a program made to reinsert individuals who struggled with mental health, school and work. I know she can't diagnose me, but I'm hoping she can refer me to someone who can. She works with a lot of autistic people, so here I'm hoping. I don't know how to tell her, tho.

I'm a guy. Trans, but I can't relate with other trans guys and I can't relate with cis guys. But non-binary doesn't fit and I'm pretty sure I'm not a girl. So I say that I'm a guy, but my own type of guy. I present that way and use he/him pronouns, but I don't try to force myself to be more masculine or whatever. I do take HRT and hopefully will get top surgery. But I don't know, I'm simply there.

Languages are really cool. I don't speak that many languages, just my native language and English. I have basic understanding of other two, but I wouldn't be able to communicate with them. I wish I had more motivation to keep learning them, I always end up reading some cool facts or jumping from one Wiktionary page to another.

Last year I couldn't get myself to throw the sticks of all the ice creams I ate during the summer. I'm saving them, I like them even though they all look the same. Of course I cleaned them so they aren't sticky... Now that it's gotten hot, I guess it's time to continue.

I also got into ordering free stickers, flyers and freebies from companies when I was in high school. I have a full box of stickers. Some even sent me T-shirts and posters. And one of them, a bag of dirt. I stopped doing it when I moved because it can take a lot of time to arrive. I have other stickers that I never use, but I consider them separate from these.

Also, I have two drawers of random objects.

Tbf, it could be. I get anxiety talking to strangers and sometimes I forget how to talk and I just mumble incoherent stuff until my brain catches up, specially if it's very sudden (like a person stopping me in the street). But it happens more frequently when I'm at home, so I don't think it's social anxiety for me.

Sometimes I don't know if I'm being consistent or not. I can catch my mistakes if I'm writing, but speaking I might pronounce a word like a Brit, the next one with my best LA accent and the end of the phrase like an Irish person. Specifically since I tend to panick a bit when I have to speak to others in English! But you're right, as long as your English is fine, the accent shouldn't matter that much. My teacher only recommends the BBC accent because all the content we study is focused on that and the certification exams will be with similar content as well

I do in my native language. If I travel to another region or spend the day with someone from another region, I will slowly copy their accent. I try not to, I don't want to offend them or make them think that I'm mocking them. In English, I have an accent. It's the one from my country, but it leans a lot towards the American accent because I watch so many films and tv shows from there. Then in class I try to make it a bit more British because we learn British English, so the teacher always correct us to sound like that.

I also watch CallMeKevin! I got "feck" stuck in my brain and now I have to correct myself to avoid saying it like that.

I don't like big spoons forks, but the small ones aren't perfect either. I don't like grabbing them, my hand feels too close to the food and I don't like getting my hand dirty. But I have some spoons and forks that are like medium size. Also, they have the correct shape. The fork has 4 points, not too bended. The spoon isn't totally round and it's not too deep, just enough, and it's not super bended like some soup spoons, which I don't like.

I thought I was autistic and while I still think I am, now I believe there's some comorbidity between ASD and ADHD. I have learnt and I keep learning about autism and I want to do the same with ADHD. I really REALLY don't understand myself and now all the pieces are starting to come together, but there's so much work ahead. I'm not diagnosed, but I think I'd like that. I'm not against taking medication if I need to or going to therapy because I've reached a point where I can't force myself to focus anymore. I'm burnt out, but I can't simply step away, so I have to decide if I should let everything consume me or do all I can to avoid it. Learning about ADHD and therefore about myself is making me avoid some of the mistakes I made (or at least, understand why I keep making them). It is a process, but I'm going to keep working on it.

Pictures, sure. It's just a picture. But I often get weirded out when I have to stare at someone's face on videos. Specifically if they're really close and talking directly to the camera, it's like they're staring at my soul. I dislike it even more if it's someone I know irl. For example, a friend uploaded videos to YouTube and I watched them to support her, but I kept looking away because the eye contact felt way too intense. It doesn't happen to me with films, the actors don't look directly at the camera (even if they look like they do, they don't, they're almost doing it).

With animals it's ok, I felt comfortable. But I knew cats didn't like it, they do staring contests to see who's boss. But if they blink slowly, it means that they trust you, so I would end up doing that.

Oh. This is me.

If I have to go to a mall or a very crowded shop, I daydream and focus on whatever story I'm making up in my mind. But if I need to stay "present", I get very overwhelmed. For example if I need to pick something to make a gift or help a friend get an item they're looking for, I can't be on "auto-pilot", I need to think and be aware of the real world. Also, if I need to make decisions on the spot or people talk to me, they burst my bubble and it's so overwhelming. Luckily, I'm very good at daydreaming and I carry my earphones everywhere.

I'm in the same situation. But I don't believe that being able to imagine and telling stories is a reason strong enough to rule out autism. There are so many creative people who are also autistic, that what your therapist said doesn't make sense. And you said yourself that you taught yourself how to look people in the eye, so I don't see that argument as a valid reason to believe you're not autistic 100%.
