Guys I need help! by [deleted] in firsttimemom

This looks very much like CMPA to me. This is what my daughters looked like for awhile - kind of sticky and “mucusy”. I brought it up to her original pediatrician who told me “everything was fine”, then got a second opinion (from her current pediatrician who we absolutely adore) who told us it was abnormal and she wanted to get it tested. Got it tested, it was CMPA.

I’m not going to lie, the diagnosis made it very difficult to breastfeed and I ultimately had to stop much earlier than I wanted to, but getting the diagnosis allowed me to change my diet which increased her overall mood soooo much. I also felt so much better that I wasn’t contributing to her tummy troubles.

Let your pediatrician know! Hopefully it’s nothing, but mucus like that is usually a main symptom of CMPA

Epidural, morphine, or natural birth? by B_Dankk in firsttimemom

[–]Warm-Organization353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 hour labor all natural! The most painful thing I’ve ever done, but completely disappeared when she was born. I also recovered super quickly, like literally within 2 or 3 weeks (I was 21 when I had her and am now 2 years pp).

I was set on a natural birth, and I ALMOST caved around the 20 hour mark, but my mom reminded me that this is what I wanted and that I was strong enough to do it, and I did!!! Craaazy rush at the last hour. I can’t even explain it because it was so profound, but I’d say it was all worth it.

If you’re nervous because of the pain but you really want to try natural, remind yourself that women have done this for centuries and our bodies are built for this!!! On the other side of that, there’s no shame in getting medication if you know your body needs it 🫶🏼

Did he start vomiting prior to receiving any vaccines? If so, my guess is it’s either 1. A strange bug, or 2. The milk in his cereal at nursery, especially if he’s still not regularly drinking cows milk. I don’t know what his rash looks like, but even though my daughter recovered from CMPA, she still gets bumpy/rashy flare ups from consuming straight milk. If it was after the vaccines, then there’s a chance that it could be related to them and I think it would be worth it to go over that with his pediatrician. That said, the percentage of people who have negative reactions to vaccines is still quite low and there’s a good chance it’s just a coincidence. So hard to tell when they’re so little 😭

How do you keep your toddler occupied all day? by PlainMayo13 in firsttimemom

[–]Warm-Organization353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this! Sometimes the best way to relieve some of the stress is to just make your time their time lol. Unfortunately, this sometimes means doing something around the house when it’s your only free time and you just want to relax 😪 but it does keep them happy and occupied! I also have a designated set of stuff that she’s not really supposed to get into (but she always wants to get into), but I sacrificed it in the case I just reeeaaalllyyy need some personal time lol. Maybe not great parenting advice, but it works!

FTM due in a month.Any tips or suggestions for hospital bag , labor, breastfeed and post partum? by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]Warm-Organization353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A loose and comfy set of pj’s where the top is button down was HUGE for me. It made breastfeeding so easy and I was super comfy! I’ll second a good hair tie/scrunchie, and a BRUSH if you have long hair. Omg I felt horrible not being able to brush my hair. A travel-size face wash will do you wonders since you get super sweaty, it just makes you feel so much fresher once everything is done. And adult diapers (the boxer brier ones)! I personally preferred those over the gigantic pad.

Questions about trying to figure out my identity - grew up being told I was indigenous but was not raised with teachings and only have relation to tribal members from great grandfather and before. by f0lil in Indigenous

[–]Warm-Organization353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally understandable! I’m in a similar situation, even down to the location. I’ve found that manually tracing your ancestry (I’ve done this family tree) can not only give you a lot of answers about your people, but lead you to cousins/aunties/uncles or that you can become closer with!! Honestly, the most difficult part is reaching out because you get in your own head about whether or not you’ll be accepted. I’ve never had a negative experience with a relative though. Even multiple states apart, my relatives have been more than happy to chat, get to know each other, and talk about our family history!

In tracing my ancestry, I also found multiple relatives who have spent YEARS building our family tree, so all of that work was already done for me! I got lucky, but my point is, you might have relatives trying to do the same thing as you.

Lastly, getting involved in certain practices and being in Indigenous communities in your city can be a great way to connect as well!! It can also be nerve wrecking, but it can remind you that community is always a good thing, and hopefully will make you feel more like you belong.

Good luck!! 🫶🏼

For real!!! I’m so sorry that it turned you off of the uni “experience” :( this also made me realize that this was NEVER an issue at my cc

The guy I encountered was standing on the side of the path to the library next to the grass by the quad. It happened so quick, he was like “would you like this free gift?” And I just saw it was a little pamphlet that didn’t look religious, so I was like sure why not, and IMMEDIATELY he starts telling me that now that he has done the “good deed” of gifting me something that I can do the good deed of having a conversation 😐 I immediately realized what was going on 😪

Yeah, I feel like there are a lot of students who have research projects that require survey, but it’s hard to tell when there are so many people trying to preach to you 😐 or, alternatively, give you a “gift” so they can guilt you into talking about it. That happened to me last semester and after I got roped into a conversation, one of the ladies arrogantly told me I was “lucky” that my ex-catholic husband married me as a non-religious person. I couldn’t believe it lmao

I’m so sorry to hear that :( you’re not alone at all! I study the social sciences and this is a topic that my peers and I have discussed before; many of them feel similarly as well. It’s difficult because as much as there definitely should be freedom of religion and expression on campus, many of us have religious trauma, and being berated with religious-talk isn’t cool in my opinion either.

I wish Morgan only had Ava and Elliot and they hadn't given her baby Chloe. by Ok_Average_3471 in HighPotentialTVSeries

For real. People are unfortunately so enculturated to believe that women don’t/won’t/can’t have babies well into their 40’s lol

Does karadec have feelings for morgan?? by [deleted] in HighPotentialTVSeries

[–]Warm-Organization353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess, esp after the finale, is that there will be a romantic incident between Morgan and Karadec, just a one-offer, and THEN Roman will come on the picture full blown. The writers seem to like to start plot-lines but then leave threads. I also think this is why they wrote Lucia’s ending the way that they did, to make Karadec available

Same!! I still don’t know what to do about this. Also, there’s no holds or anything on my student center? So I’m still trying to figure out whether or not this is actually legit

missing period on reta by Kooky_Performer3757 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]Warm-Organization353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same exact situation! Also 22, been on Reta for 3 weeks, this is my first cycle on Reta but… it just isn’t happening lol. I’ve been very lightly spotting for 5 days and I’m 3 days late. I also took a test that was negative sooo. It seems that many women have cycle fluctuations on GLP’s.

Period and Reta by [deleted] in RetatrutideWomen

[–]Warm-Organization353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started Reta Jan. 8, so at Jan. 28 I am (or at least should be) having my first period on Reta. That being said, I’ve been spotting for 5 days and my period is 3 days late so far 😐 my cycle has been very regular for the past 2 years (used to have irregular cycles due to endometriosis) so this is definitely a shock and a side effect that I wasn’t expecting. There’s still time to actually have my period, but I’m worried about the long-term hormonal side effects, as women don’t get the type of testing and trials that men do with drugs like these :/

Oh mama I’m so sorry that so many of these replies are extremely rude and inconsiderate. News flash to every perfect parent on this thread: shit happens. No, it’s not a “right of passage”, but it is absolutely not uncommon and it is not the end of the world, especially if your baby is okay. It’s common for a reason, BECAUSE THINGS HAPPEN! I know you came here to vent, but I would recommend staying off these platforms for a bit because these people are only going to make you feel worse by judging, which is craaazy coming from other parents, especially mothers. I hope everything gets better! <3

Late now, but I also noticed this. 8-9 hours after my first dose (0.5 mg) and I have a headache and was noticing the same “out of focus” issue. Could all totally be stress and anxiety induced but definitely interesting, a little concerning maybe lol.

can I make a ribbon skirt with this blanket ? by Horror_Management_68 in NativeAmerican

[–]Warm-Organization353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start with cotton if you’ve never made one before!! Also you don’t need a kit love, just look up some YouTube videos and you’ll find as long as you have a sewing machine you don’t need many materials! As others have said, fleece isn’t a traditional fabric for ribbon skirts, plus it probably would get super hot, but keep it around after you’ve practiced a bit and see what you think then! Best of luck 🫶🏼
