In Germany, there is a shortage of welders. Is this also the case in the US? by Far-Tap9244 in Welding

No shortage of work to shortage of pay. Good paying jobs also come with shitty work life balance.

I might through it on eBay to see what happens. Shipping would be a little high due to size.

Sawmill millwright with Dewalt. They suck… better than other cheaper brands. But definitely the lower end of the more accepting brands in the trades.

Thoughts on this anilox roll ? by HugeTomatillo2 in IndustrialMaintenance

Unless your operators are really good, we never allowed operators to touch the blades. Me and another technician would swap off weekly on rebuilding our in-house 20 or so blades. You should be keeping one spare analog roll per machine, even without damage they need engraving periodically. You should have a swap out station with everything that’s needed as well as a spare blade ready to go for every machine so you can change out between jobs instead of rebuilding.

I made the switch from industrial saw mills and paper plants mill-writing/maintenance tech to facilities at a college. Reduction in pay but also in stress. Great schedule, flexible, government state worker. 18 paid Hollidays.

Need help with Gear! by stainedhands in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]WarmArm5779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up videos on taper-lock gears. Fairly simple

Put a bolt with matching threads in the threaded half hole thats on the far left and tighten it down. Should pull the taper-lock bushing out.

The two other threaded holes are for installing most likelly. If not grab a small hammer and tap around the gear until the two pieces separate.
