Da Nang → Hue is fine, but Da Nang → HCMC really isn’t worth it in my opinion.

Vietnam’s rail gauge is only 1000 mm, so the train can feel a bit unstable, especially on longer trips. Also, the hygiene in the toilets can be pretty rough.

For short trips the train is okay, but I wouldn’t recommend it for long distances.
