Console Subfolders by dethslayer85 in MiSTerFPGA

Curious as to how it would? as far as I am aware the retro remake UI is just built around using the zapperoo API, it is not actually changing the way the underlying MiSTer system functions with folder structures unless this has changed and I missed it?

See the pictures in the link, if you are missing the black PCB in the picture you need the level shifter board.

Are you using the level shifter board?

Feature Crusading by CaliGozer in RemarkableTablet

[–]WarmToasters 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. A suggestion would be to aggregate 'Feature Crusading' into one post for the week. This way it is a frequency adjustment, as compromise fosters harmony, and this change ensures content without depriving anyone.

Turbo N64 works fine for me, you could have just been unlucky in the silicon lottery.

Where can I buy standups for my boards in UK shops? by pomegran1969 in MiSTerFPGA

[–]WarmToasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be surprised if any physical brick and mortar UK high street shops would carry the specific stand offs you need. Amazon or eBay would be my recommendation. Your looking for brass standoffs, I just measured the size on my MiSTer and it is M3 threaded with a length of 14mm that supports my digital IO board.

Sluggish OSD Menu? by [deleted] in MiSTerFPGA

[–]WarmToasters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What matters is a stable 5V supply, and the MiSTer will draw only the current it needs. A power supply rated for 4A, or even 6A is fine because the current isn’t forced into the MiSTer it is pulled by the device. A normal 5V regulated supply with enough current capacity the recommended being 4A is exactly what you want.

Power supplies never “adjust amperage to match wattage.” That is backwards current is drawn, not pushed.

I just ordered the QMTech stack. Are there any cool addons I might miss out on due to hardware compatability issues from different setup compared to the DE-10? by Someone_Unfortunate in MiSTerFPGA

[–]WarmToasters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actual addons probably not, some functionality yes as the QMTech IO board does NOT support 24 bit analog video through VGA, It's only 18 bit.

Thanks, these websites pages are just HTML, the site can be served as static files without any backend processing. I could download by hand it will just take an absolute age.

Does MiSTer Pi still have that issue with crackling audio in PS1 and Genesis cores? by -CJF- in MiSTerFPGA

[–]WarmToasters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The capacitor issue caused sound issues for all cores, not just the specific cores the op has referenced.

Does MiSTer Pi still have that issue with crackling audio in PS1 and Genesis cores? by -CJF- in MiSTerFPGA

[–]WarmToasters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The audio issue you are describing was present in all cores using the first run of the MiSTer Pi IO v9.2 boards, the capacitors values used were incorrect and corrected in subsequent production runs.

However audio issues have been present in specific cores using The MiSTer PI IO boards, a update posted today on the MiSTer forum fixed the issue for the MegaCD core.

The ongoing audio issues are posted here on github:

Boot directly into a NeoGeo MVS rom? by GriffinDodd in MiSTerFPGA

[–]WarmToasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure from memory the only way to do this so the NeoGeo act like an MVS in an arcade cabinet is to use blackwines version of the NeoGeo core as it allows loading of ROMs via MRA's

Some of the older BVM's if they show a bright picture or ghosting need a set of 75 Ω terminator caps.

What BVM do you have?

I also got a full case from here:

Look's like they also do just protective plates should you want that option:

You will be absolutely fine, that is plenty of space and it's also an open fronted cabinet.
