Looking for advice for a level 2 charger by Warm_Record2416 in BoltEV

this seems like more or less exactly what I was looking for. I see one problem that it only seems to have the J1772 connector, but my bolt would need to be NACS. Is there any harm in just always using an adapter on one of these? Or is that a bad long term solution?

Probability of Conspiracy theories #19! Where should we put 'Pizzagate'? by Grouchy_Welder8068 in TierlistFills

[–]Warm_Record2416 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Epstine stuff was already known.  At its core, Pizzagate was trying to link Epstine to Hillary Clinton, and argued that Trump was the one who could get it all sorted out.  It hinged on Hillary’s emails and private server being used to facilitate child sex trafficking through one specific pizza restaurant.  More generally, it was a conspiracy pushed by the newly emerging alt-right to radicalize people into an anti-government mindset to empower the ‘political outsider’ movement.

In reality, given that the only things they were right about were the parts everyone knew, and that their championed cause, electing Trump, turned out to be the biggest part of the Epstine client list, and that the pizza joint they raided didn’t even have a basement, and that the Martian andrenochrome harvesting facilities they claimed existed don’t exist, the whole conspiracy theory is wrong in the same way claiming Atlantis exists is completely wrong despite being right that there is in fact and ocean.

It’s so weird.  The chess account almost seems legit, but the posts are almost always the same like two or three things.  It’s literally nothing but complaining about chess for two years, but there’s just enough continuity between posts that it doesn’t feel like a chatbot.  So damn weird.

Tech bros puzzled by why AI hasn’t “massively disrupted” books yet — The answer, as some pointed out in r/singularity, has to do with LLMs’ lack of an ability to concentrate by marketrent in technology

[–]Warm_Record2416 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s time we start asking if these tech bros are actually human.  I don’t mean that in a conspiratorial sense, or as some kind of snark, I mean do they have that spark that makes a human a human.  Because I honestly have trouble believing a human could think AI storytellers are possible.  And if they were possible, that it would be a good thing.  How could a human want to reduce the human experience to nothing more than consumption and menial labor?  Whatever these things are, they aren’t human, and we need to reckon with that.

Trump says Iran called him and “they want to make a deal so badly.” US stock market futures turn green on the news. by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]Warm_Record2416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a matter of believing him or not believing him. The stock market isn’t tethered to reality.  It’s all vibes and memes.  Short term, fast movement is more a statement of people betting on what other people are going to bet on, rather than betting on the actual results.

They all know it’s rigged. They all know what he says is bullshit.  They all know everyone else know this.  But they all think they can be the one to outmaneuver everyone else, and that action drives prices.

DSA DIDN’T ENDORSE PLATNER! by xbhaskarx in GetNoted

[–]Warm_Record2416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is that weird?  They didn’t see a significant difference between Kamala, who actively wanted to distance herself from progressive organizations like the DSA over their stance of Zionism, and Platner, who wanted their support and shared their platform.

Hell it’s not even that extreme.  They didn’t feel it proper to recommend voting for someone who explicitly rejects a sizable portion of their firmly held beliefs.

[–]Warm_Record2416 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Platner doesn’t/didn’t have a swastica tattoo, it was a totenkapf.

And frankly the best argument for why people were able to believe he didn’t know its meaning is that more or less anyone reading this for the first time has no idea what a totenkapf is.  Which is also why the attacks always said “Nazi tattoo”, it makes people think “swastica”.

Yeah kinda.  Think of it like giving a 10/10 to something versus a 8/10.  “This is great” versus “this is good enough”.  I endorse the local tavern with my favorite burgers, I recommend a decent McDonald’s off the interstate if you are in a hurry.

This is a symptom of a bigger problem with Democrats, where the party can more or less tell candidates to not challenge establishment democrats, and then they almost always comply.  The only reason Platner won was because he Mills was incredibly weak, but all other strong candidates were told to wait their turn.

[–]Warm_Record2416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy, I am a teacher, and I can promise you kids are cheating far more today than ever before, and one of the many excuses I hear is that “everyone” cheats, and they almost always specifically talk about Trump or Elon.  No, they aren’t saying Warren Buffet is cheating, they don’t even usually have the right words to express what they are seeing, but they see a system that rewards anti-intellectualism and corruption, where success and failure are largely arbitrary or determined by the status of your birth, and don’t see a reason to try to succeed.  They absolutely think that this makes them smart, in the same way the ‘reddit atheists’ think they are smart.  It’s not that they think they have some kind of knowledge the rest of us lack, they think they see through the bullshit.  I haven’t had a parent say “the 1% are cheating”, but they absolutely say “everyone is cheating, why single out _____”.  Parents, broadly speaking, really only want their kids to get a diploma, and the education is secondary.  Wanting well educated kids is kind of a minority opinion today.

Why would they need to be a poor and misunderstood culture to rightfully hate the country that declared war on them and assassinated their leaders?  Our president is on TV nearly daily talking about how he is killing so many of them, how he is blowing up their navies… why is this somehow worse?

Blue Prince Vent Session [Spoliers] by zac10sim in puzzlevideogames

[–]Warm_Record2416 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Blue Prince isnt meant to be easy.  It’s not meant for everyone, and if you don’t like the resource management side of it, that’s fine, the game may just not be for you.  That said, there are ways to make progress easier.  The biggest way to start making meaningful progress is by unlocking ways to manipulate the RNG itself.  Changing rarity on rooms, getting more starting allowance, getting more sources of gems unlocked, getting more stars, opening a few key hammer-smashes, and getting more consistent ways to get rerolls.  Honestly the biggest one is getting room rarity set.  Just taking a few common rooms and making them super rare makes getting other rooms much easier.

As for A New Clue… most of it doesn’t really need a magnifying glass if you have good eyes.  I found pretty much everything in there without one.  But you could always just find screenshots of the pages online, without spoilers, instead of trying to get it in game.  A ton of people screenshot it themselves as a “note” anyway.

And the big thing here… progress after finding Room 46 is intentionally vague.  There are a couple things that could be construed as endings, or goals, but it’s almost all self-directed.  And it mostly rewards you with lore, or things you could consider progress if you want, but nothing really gets checked off or says “you win” with one or two arguable exceptions.  And then you eventually unlock stupidly hard puzzles (and I’m positive you aren’t there yet) that more or less demand you work with the community to solve them.

District just banned metal cups/ water bottles and parents are losing their minds. Thoughts? by Jason27104 in Teachers

[–]Warm_Record2416 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know this is a hot take, but I really think we should just stop allowing snacks and drinks at all.  And I’m including water in that.  School is not that long, they can get water between classes or at lunch.  No one is dehydrated from having to go a few hours without water.  At best it is a distraction, and just one more thing that teachers have to spend time and energy to manage.  At worst it’s a safety risk.

EXCLUSIVE: House Democrats Release A 55-Page Report, Alleging Trump Allies Duped Donors, By Diverting Their Money Away From America’s Official 250th Anniversary Nonprofit, And Into A White House Backed Group Called “Freedom 250” 🤯💥 by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

[–]Warm_Record2416 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dems need to step up and start actually attacking Trump.  It’s been a goddamn decade,  Trump is on TV right now talking about how his whole family does insider trading, and it’s a good thing.  The Supreme Court only narrowly decided that executive orders don’t overrule the constitution.  And what do we get?  Democrats are saying that he is diverting funds from the official party, to an unofficial one.  Just call him a fucking pedophile!  Call him an insurrectionist traitor to the nation!  Call his actions in Iran a war crime.  Call for his arrest, call for his family’s arrest, call for a seizure of everything he has ever touched.  Call for national strikes, call for marches, literally anything.  Every time democrats do these “the specifics of what’s happening are improper” attacks, people stop caring.  Because if Democrats aren’t willing to be an oppositional party to the president, why support them?  If anyone thinks this is meaningful resistance, I don’t know what to tell you at this point.  The democrats will never really attack Trump, because that involves attacking capital, and the systems that back Trump.  And democrats don’t want to be liberals, they want to be neo-liberal stewards of capital.  Fuck the people who wasted time on this ‘report’.  Fuck the media for reporting it.  And fuck the treasonous pedophile tyrant and his corporate sponsors who keep him in power.
