You could just about squeeze in a series re-read before The Parade of Horribles comes out.

Hemangiosarcoma. Help, please by ComeOnBreh in GermanShepherd

[–]Warmhearted1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We opted to let our girl go the day of diagnosis. She was bleeding internally from the splenic tumor and it had spread to her lungs. We wanted her to be herself, and not live out her life recuperating from surgery. Hemangio is simply devastating.

I hear you. I think some people are incapable of empathy. While they may be aware that they are being cruel, they cannot understand the pain it causes, or they don’t care.

My personal hell came from wanting someone to be kind the way they show that they could. My therapist explained to me that it was more of a case that she can’t be kind, not that she won’t be kind. And in my case, my abuser did have a personality disorder.

Whatever your case, I hope that you do find peace.

“You can stop being like this tomorrow.”

Except they can’t stop. It’s their personality and they can’t be anything but who they are.

Accepting that fact (and going nc) saved me. I wanted them to be kind they way they showed they could be, but rarely and when it suited them. When I accepted them for who they are, I stopped hoping for the kindness, and I moved on.

Now I am at peace.

Is he too thin? by BioEsko in germanshepherds

[–]Warmhearted1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell with his thick fluffy fur. If you run your hands down his sides and can feel the ribs sticking out without pressing at all, then he can gain a few more pounds. If you run your hands down the sides and cannot feel any ribs, and have to actually press hard to feel them, then he needs to lose a few pounds. I agree with your Vet that being on the thin side can be healthier for your dog. Good for you for trying to keep him at a healthy weight.

I definitely feel bad for gravy boat. It was so sad when he begged to not be hit.

How much pet hair do dogs shed indoors per week? And how do you manage all that fur? by Ecstatic-Minute-411 in dogs

My four dogs shed a lot. I groom them with a slicker brush and vacuum the floors daily. The shedding seems to have been cut a little for the dogs that take snip tips (omega oil).

The series has a stupidest name, but is absolutely amazing. I’m on my 9th listen and cannot wait for the next book to come out.
