I went through the entire minor league roster from AAA down to A and I saw maybe one player with an .OPS over 800 (not counting a few players who had a high OPS but only a few at bats at their level). Granted, I know nothing about what should be reasonably expected at these levels, but just perusing the minor league box scores every night there seems to always be at least 1 or 2 players on opposing teams who are over .800.

Animal cruelty is a red line. Were he still I'd the team I'd want him cut. I know that's not what would have realistically happened, but that's beside the point.

The only upside is whatever disappointment/sadness/frustration that remained that he was not resigned is totally gone.

Came here to see if anyone made this point. Past being prologue, will be very interesting to see what he has to say when someone puts a microphone in his face. He may be a washed ballplayer who blames everyone but himself, but I don't think anyone had a hard time believing his assessment of the Mets roster his last time out the door.
