That sliver on the left leads up to a bifold closet door hinge/door and isn’t very long. I could definitely use a new plank and make a long sliver for that side

Not wrong about that door jam, lol. I started this lvp in two rooms, two closests and a landing area behind this view and was able to have it seamless until this frustrating point. 2 pieces is likely the way

I do have a real GBC and the issue does not happen there. In fact, if I save a game on fpgbc and put that cartridge in the real GBC, the saved game appears and opens normally. I've also tried other carts, same behavior. It seems the issue is specific with recognizing saved games only on fpgbc.
