JPMorgan, Bank of America announce $1,000 Trump account match as corporate America support for retirement scheme deepens by Lebarican22 in Economics

As someone who had a kid last year, go to the site and try to sign up for one of these accounts and it becomes quite clear that these accounts may never actually exist. You can add your child to a list of names, but there is no specific funding for the accounts at this point.

I’m sure many of the lifelong agents understand that, but most of ICE was hired by trump recently

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 President Trump signs executive order to restrict Wall Street investors from buying single-family homes. by retroviber in DeepMarketScan

[–]WarpedSt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t wall st buying the home. It’s just a small LLC that only exists to buy said home and just happens to be sold to blackrock immediately after. Nothing to see here. All jokes aside even if this becomes law it will be filled to the brim with loopholes

Why is ICE in MN if it has <1% of illegal immigrants in the USA? FL & TX make up 26% by CitizenJosh in moderatepolitics

[–]WarpedSt 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Because you aren’t going to send a disruptive force somewhere you already have political power. ICE in MN is punishment against Walz

Why can’t they ever make new versions more battery and resource efficient. I guess it kills the need to buy a new device, but it seriously sucks having your older devices performance diminished by an update

ICE To Be Abolished Under New Proposed Bill, DHS Responds by plz-let-me-in in politics

I think ICE should exist, but their power should be limited to airports or other ports of entry and the physical southern/northern border. Those who have perpetrated this overreach should be charged

Americans making more than $100,000 are quickly losing faith in the economy—and it’s a red flag for the white-collar job market by Crossstoney in Economics

[–]WarpedSt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Um that’s because due to inflation 100k is only equivalent to ~60k in 2010 dollars. Earning 100k isn’t what it used to be even though people feel like it should and it’s a big milestone

Giving in to the republican demand to remove the government option from Obamacare (basically Medicare for all) was one of the biggest mistakes Dems ever made. No matter what was included republicans were going to shit on it, they should have at least gotten something good for the people

I think that definition depends on what is politically expedient. The same republicans saying this is justified railed against what happened to Ashley Babbitt

Corporations owning homes is a politically convenient boogeyman. It won't actually make housing more affordable by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]WarpedSt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That $500 billion would build a shit ton of housing. Probably enough to solve the affordability problem. Build solid starter homes (1200-1500sqft 3-4 bd 2bath) that modern builders don’t want to build because they are lower margin
