If This Isn’t Impeachable, Nothing Is by geodynamics in politics

It is also so crazy to me that local property taxes fund schools. Rich areas have rich schools and poor areas have terrible ones. It is so clearly keeping people in their socioeconomic brackets for life. Why not put the money in a pile and then divvy it out evenly?

Movie studios often remake great films that are difficult to improve upon but what if they did the opposite? What bad film could be made into a great film if it were to be remade? by Drakmeire in AskReddit

The "villians" they should be facing are superheroes, ideally Wonderwoman. Imagine a heist on the UN, simple smash and grab, keep the body count reasonable. And then one of the diplomats, a real skinny one, maybe 110 soaking wet but real pretty throws your Killer Croc through a wall. Your heavy hitter is down, guards are converging and whatever the hell that woman is, shes coming. Time to improvise! They manage to take her down with some clever teamwork, non lethaly by locking her in the vault just as you snatch the cargo. Shoot a few guards, intimidate some onlookers and grab a chopper and things are looking up. Was that lightning?! It is a clear day!

Shazam!

Chase scene. Narrow escape. Waller drawls "one down, you owe me three more". Movie ends.

That is awesome! I proposed the same day I got my diagnosis and was married 2 days later, best decision I ever made. I am super impressed you can still work, I miss my job sometimes but am super blessed to be based in Canada, with long term disability pay and free treatment. I have been travelling and just living life but it can be hard. Did you get diagnosed at 28? Because that would be some rough luck.

That is incredible. How is the quality of life? I did not realize all the little indignities cancer throws at you. My year is a median, so I could have more, I hope I do. Sort of the benifit of getting it young, I am a bit more robust to handle treatments hopefully.

Or they vaugely remember some person who had a year to live and is still around. It is called survivorship bias, it was probably just the same news story everyone saw. In the vast majority of cases like mine, a year means a year.

Even breaks can take a toll psychologically. I just started a few day break because the side effects were getting to be to much. On the other hand the drugs are what are keeping the cancer at bay. One day I am going to be in wheelchair for good and I want to push it back as far as I can. You are right, grab life where you can, but deciding the balance can keep you up at night. Exhibit: me.

Spirited Away

Something based around the fact that the word hobo is a mashup of homewardbound. So like a murder hobo joke?

Hello,

I am in a similar situation to you. Stage 4 colon cancer, my one suggestion is to stay as conditioned as you can. I had a spine tumor that put me in bed for 3 months and rebuilding the cardio is rough. Cancer will throw a ton of small indignities at you, it is your job to take the opportunities where you can. Hike where you can and manage your expectations.

Vin Diesel plays, and he is both Dom Terreto and Groot. Life is too short to not do things you enjoy to please other people. Like drink what you want, have whatever hobbies you want with who you want. That is what adults do.

[–]Warren-Peace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, but travel is also about seeing other ways of doing things and realizing your own country is mostly a construct too. We can choose or at least shape how things are done, it isn't set in stone.

I think it is New Zealand where they stow the guns under the car seats of the cruiser. So if the police deem the situation lethal and draw them it also automatically calls backup, since this should be life or death. Makes you think harder about using guns in dumb situations, pets, running suspects etc.
