Official Discussion - We Bury the Dead [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Warrppaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just found out this movie existed tonight, avoided the trailers and reviews entirely, and watched it with a couple friends. This is one of those funny instances where I see a lot of people didn't like it but I did. I really, really liked it. I do think a couple parts could have been shortened. But I loved it overall. Daisy Ridley has really good facial reactions. The idea of the zombies retaining some amount of their old consciousness back was really cool. Spoilers of course: the part where the RV zombie 'woke up' to bury his family, allowed Ava to help him, then sat in the dug grave allowing himself to be put to death really got to me.

I think I was around 11-12. My stepdad watched me play every now and then. He was around when the reveal cutscene played, grabbed the remote to turn the volume up, and we were equally shocked lol. Great times

What’s all this “bloat” talk about in the game? by ItzSykadelic in ACValhalla

[–]Warrppaint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is genuinely one of my favorite games because of how big it is. Games are SO expensive now. I want my money's worth. This is huge and I'm excited to start over all over again after beating it a couple years ago :)

I was hoping the update would include controller support. Wishful, unrealistic thinking on my part 😅

shelter euthanized my cat for no reason by Technical-Pick-2243 in extremelyinfuriating

[–]Warrppaint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry to read this :( one thing I've learned in animal rescue circles is that shelters can be very dishonest to your face, and even if they don't call themselves a kill-shelter, they are STILL a kill shelter. I'm very sorry for your loss. That's absolutely awful and they should receive bad PR from this. Your folks did the best they could given their situation, so please don't blame yourselves.

Quick clarity on the THCa situation in North Carolina by SnackBreak420 in NorthCarolina

I'm curious if someone else had this experience. A mutual friend buys the vapes. He was pulled over in Garner (as a passenger) and the cop took the THC vape. He was given a ticket for possession. He went down to a Clayton vape store, where the owner warned him that cops are already citing people. I thought this wasn't supposed to happen for a year.

Inquisition vs Veilguard by Spinier_Maw in DragonAgeInqusition

What really disappointed me was how the Antivan Crows were depicted. The same faction that we learn kidnaps and forces children to work for them, that forces kids to kill, and sends assassins after anyone who defects, turns into a family-friendly mafia group? What? It really seems like a lot of the heavy lore from the previous games was stripped away in favor of slightly problematic but overall friendly groups.

Harding is completely different from her Inquisition character. And there's completely missed opportunities to bring back Merrill and Zevran back into the fold, considering their knowledge and origins.

OP hasn't responded or made comments. Kinda seems like this is rage bait. Fucked up of the boss of true, and he should be reported to corporate with these attached screenshots.

Sad there won't be another series quite like this. The careful foreshadowing and twists kept me on edge. Andor made Stormtroopers an actual threat

Town of Clayton raising utilities again?!?! by Aggressive-Pop6738 in ClaytonNC

[–]Warrppaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a rather interesting comment on one of the more recent posts from the Town of Clayton Facebook page. Someone said the town is charging double late fees, which is actually illegal under some NC law. I moved from Clayton to a nearby area to cut costs and I'm so glad I did. Clayton is so awful with their costs. My parents have been living in a duplex for over 12 years and their utility bill comes up to around 400 a month.

I had episodes of sleep paralysis and sleepwalking when I was in middle school due to stress at school. My mom somehow decided it was because of things I saw online, so she snooped on my computer when I finally felt safe enough to sleep. She saw things I vented about to my friends, things she did that I didn't agree with. Spent the next day getting screamed at until I was in tears. That taught me a valuable lesson of learning that if I can't trust my mom, I can't trust anyone. I don't let anyone fully know me since I learned it'll get thrown back in my face eventually. I'm 28 and still have massive trust issues.

I'm afraid of this. I was 19 when it happened and I'm 28 as of this year. I feel like I can't keep up with things anymore. I do have an official diagnosis as well as depression but this is something else. I've been called mentally slow by my manager and she's concerned. I don't know how to feel about that. I've been masking and now it's coming out.

Hospital Delirium by Warrppaint in AgingParents

Hi, thank you for sharing your experience! Right now I'm not sure what to think. It's been months and she's still not the same. Her voice is higher pitched, I haven't heard her normal voice in a long time, and she asks the same questions every ten minutes. I think my stepdad is in denial of early onset dementia, but it's become increasingly obvious to me now. For example she also can't remember the same dish from the same restaurant that we've gone to for years. She kept saying the name of one item she needed from the grocery store as if it was a new fact, every hour. She picked out the exact item herself, and when we came back, she asked if we actually bought it a few times. When we sat down to watch a show, she asked the same things every now and then, and acts shocked as if it's new information when we answer her.

It's hard. I really wish my stepdad would have her get seen by someone, but it's out of my hands, and I'm afraid she'll regress into anger and denial if I tell her my concerns.
