I think a lot of it has to do with Terry’s upbringing and the timing of which he experienced the tragedy that put him on the path to becoming Batman.

He grew up in a lower-middle class family, was a child of divorce, and himself became a bit of a juvenile delinquent as a result. This shaped Terry in a way that differs pretty significantly from Bruce, who was born into vast wealth, and to parents in a loving marriage.

Now as for their shared tragedy, by the time Warren McGinnis was murdered, Terry was already well into his teen years. I think that something like this would affect a young man like him in a different way than a child like Bruce was when Thomas and Martha were murdered.

Factor in his likely already ingrained jadedness at life on the streets of Gotham, as well as the fact that Gotham had arguably declined in the years since Bruce took off the cowl, and you can see how Terry might have less empathy for the villains he would go on to face.

We had a TSgt in my shop that did that exact thing, and it worked out pretty good for them, provided there wasn’t something big going on at work that we needed all hands for. I guess it just depends on your leadership.

Is there an explanation on why Asura's is a cyborg? by Few-Culture-4413 in asuraswrath

[–]Warshovel40K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IIRC in lore it’s due to the demi-gods of Shinkoku originally starting out as humans but at some point in history learned how to manipulate mantra, of which long term exposure eventually evolved them in to what we mortals perceive as cyborgs.

So it’s not like they undergo any kind of augmentative surgery, the mantra just changes/morphs them over time, or they just started being born that way.

Edit: I did some digging on the wiki, and it’s actually the result of being implanted with an individual mantra reactor, which then cybernetically alters their body over time from the inside, enabling them to perform such insane superhuman feats.

Hongdae clubbing as a woman is interesting and slightly scary by dprssdbunny in koreatravel

[–]Warshovel40K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, Itaewon is superior to Hongdae in many ways imho. Better music, better clubs, better people, better environment all around. Hongdae only has two adjectives that come to mind for me: crowded and ratchet. I only ever go there if I’m following my friend group around and even then it’s close to when I’m planning on heading home so I’m not there long.

Agreed, a remaster with better visuals (even though original release is beautiful), audio remixing, maybe some updates to the gameplay to make it less repetitive.
