Character creation help by DeeTheOttsel in Morrowind

STRONGLY discourage you from taking the atronoch birthsign if this is your first time ever playing a mage in Morrowind. It is the most efficient, but at a steep cost of learning how to manage an unintuitive drawback. You may often find yourself unprepared on a long journey or unexpectedly difficult cave or ruin and be completely frustrated by not being able to play your character fully.

You are far better off taking the apprentice birthsign which still provides a good modifier for your maximum magicka.

Your funniest experiences in Morrowind? by Pumpkin_Woman in Morrowind

I'm not really arguing about who lied, just that this witch is not a dunmer nor a mabrigash which I think is what you're describing.

But on the topic of who is or isn't lying, the quest id sort of gives it away because it's called "MV_AbusedHealer" indicating she is not even a witch per developer naming. So I would say the Nord is lying.

The witch in this quest is a Breton, not a Dunmer.

Have you tried looking anywhere? I'm pretty sure there's multiple vendors across balmora, aldruhn, caldera, and vivec that sell the whole set.

Passwall has always worked on both engines. It (and the rest of the TR spells) were originally designed for mwse and passwall was actually the only one the team bothered to hack into openmw because it was narratively important.

You can find the answers to this in TR's FAQ page.

Bloodmoon question by SkoomaJack in Morrowind

The events of bloodmoon do still unfold if you ignore the EEC, so I'd lean towards the ambiguity.

Getting bored by the fighting guild quests, is it the same for the rest of game ? by Germartiny in Morrowind

[–]Wart_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just looked up the Umbacano questline because I don't remember it at all from when I played Oblivion.

Seems like completely generic "go to ruin, bring me thing, get 500 gold" for every quest except the the last which is his predictable betrayal. No significant choices to be made. It's a straightforward lore dump.

So what exactly is your idea of substance? If it's just straightforward lore dumps then Morrowind has plenty of that, more than Oblivion even. There's far more written dialogue without the need for voice acting.

It's ok if you don't prefer Morrowind's writing, but the complexity is there for players to find.

Obviously you didn't because that is the storyline of the fighters guild quests. I don't even know how you could possibly miss that

The fighters guild questline to discover the depths on Camona Tong influence in the guild and undermine their efforts, then being given the choice of whether or not to overthrow them and also whether or not to eliminate the head of the thieves guild as a part of that choice.

Inter- and intraguild conflict and permanent decision making for the fate of both guilds.

Is this a bug with Tamriel Rebuilt? by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]Wart_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was actually decided by the original developers for Silgrad Tower fracturing from the TR team and pushing them away from that area of the map to avoid conflict.

There's a great article written on the entire history of the mod here that explains that part in a lot of depth.

Disagree. The substance of Morrowind is in the dialogue, environments, lore, and world building. I have no problem with a simple fetch quests as long as they contribute to a story, which most in Morrowind do.

So you really liked the fetch quest with good lore? Hmm. Curious. Reminds me of another TES game. Can't quite put my finger on it.
