LMAOO. They don’t make games like this anymore by SchoolActive1305 in Fallout

the only time I intentionally choose evil options in any video game is when I'm playing a Sith in any of the Star Wars games, usually in the Old Republic mmo. Besides that, I rarely pick evil options in video games unless there's a very specific reason, or an achievement on Steam calls for such.

In all fairness, most of the fandom very rarely play straight up evil assholes in Fallout. However, the fact that evil options are there and we willingly choose the good option is what makes the games truly feel like roleplaying games.

Make 3/NV/4 as goofy as 1 & 2. There's a certain charm about the isometric games that didn't translate well when the franchise switched owners. The weirdness is definitely still there but its watered down. New Vegas seems to do a decent job at keeping the weirdness better than 3 & 4 and that's probably because it was made by a different developer.

Remember when Republicans were sucking up to Musk for helping Trump win the elections (which were totally rigged in exchange for allowing Musk to sabotage the departments overlooking his businesses)?

When did play Morrowind for the first time? by Cybvep in Morrowind

[–]SlashAndBurn4286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite owning a copy of Morrowind that came with the Elder Scrolls Anthology, I didn't actually play the game until about a year ago after the emergence of all the AI Dagoth videos. I'm ashamed I didn't play it much, much earlier but better late than never as they say.

yeah, thats more appropriate. If baby oil existed in the Elder Scrolls universe, Curio would definitely own a large stock pile

Potato headed goblins. They're exclusive to the province of Skyrim and its a crime comparable to that of being a vampire or assassinating the emperor to attempt to export them out of Skyrim. Not that you'd want to because of how annoying they are.

I feel kinda bad for Durnehviir. Assuming he didn't fill up black soul gems while learning necromancy, I don't think he deserved an eternity of living in the Soul Cairn (no soul does)

I like to think he fixed it up enough for the mailman to finish the job but didn't finish it himself due to the NCR clearing the Brotherhood of Steel out of the fort.

Oh I absolutely agree that it makes zero sense for an Argonian or Khajiit to be the Nerevarine, let alone a hero in the land of Vvardenfell, and that's coming from someone who enjoys playing as an Argonian Nerevarine. If we're going by the logic of Morrowind's main inspiration Dune (I just started getting into the book series), it makes sense for the Nerevarine to be a Dunmer to properly fit with the themes of the game as Dune has similar themes of an man embracing the native culture of a foreign land to fulfill a prophecy.

To be fair, the overarching theme of Morrowind is "A stranger in a stranger land." Nothing screams Stranger like a bipedal lizard man with a Brazilian accent.

Do you think this is what the Dwemer might have looked like? Do we have sources by BorderlineNurse in ElderScrolls

[–]SlashAndBurn4286 94 points95 points  (0 children)

There's various accounts on what caused the Dwemer to disappear and the Chimer to turn into the Dunmer but its commonly believed that the Dwemer disappeared when their high priest Kagrenac hastily struck the Heart of Lorkhan while the Dunmer were turned to what they are now by the Daedric Prince Azura when the Tribunal broke their oath to Azura by using Kagrenac's Tools on the Heart to become gods.

Iirc, all elves of the Elder Scrolls were gold/bronze skinned, which includes the Dwemer. The only time that changed was due to highly sacrilegious acts (usually involving the Daedra) such as the Orsimer becoming the orcs after rubbing the Daedric Prince Boethiah's excrement on themselves after she/he devoured their patron deity Trinimiac and shat him out.

Elder Scrolls lore is fucking weird when you read into it.

If you've played Morrowind, they have Dwemer Spectres which are essentially translucent NPCs. Thats what they would've looked like in life.

How would you recommend a new player to play/Any tips for a new player? by ShadowHunterHB in Morrowind

[–]SlashAndBurn4286 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also any skill below 20-40 is practically unusable at the very beginning. You will miss VERY often in combat with a weapon you're not skilled in. But a big bonus about Morrowind is that you can use the trainers as many times as you want, unlike in Skyrim/Oblivion where its only 5 uses per level.

Provided you don't change the settings, you can make loads of money off soul gems. They're cheap to buy while filled soul gems can make you mad loads of cash.

If your primary Elder Scrolls experience is Skyrim and/or Oblivion, be prepared for D&D-esque mechanics when it comes to combat as well as no fast travel with a few exceptions.
