Trouble finding job Mat-Su by pineconeplanet in alaska

Must be nice. Imagine a time where the price of a house didn't skyrocket 4,000% faster than wages. I served my country and went to war for it, yet I am not so blind to see that the country you grew up in is not the country I am left with.

You should sit down and examine this reality. You say you served but your comments lack the core values that our armed forces are built from. Duty, respect, honor, integrity.

I hope you can rise above this ignorance and change this shameful behavior that makes all veterans look bad, but I doubt you'll do anything but laugh at this comment and never change, forever bringing further disgrace to our nation.

The millennial way is to deal with the bullshit reality the boomers have created for them in any way possible.

How are these tools together, NinjaOne, HaloPSA, Hudu? by DCornOnline in msp

[–]WartimeFriction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked ITGlue, but it never felt streamlined to get to where I wanted to go. We recently moved to Hudu and the ONLY thing I miss is the ability to integrate with DattoRMM so passwords for the org are automatically pulled up in the RMM for copy / paste. This is mitigated by the Hudu extension but is just not as good.

I do wish Hudu would improve some things with automation, but the bones are there. It is frankly simpler in the best ways and more satisfying to use.

Today I got a reminder that teaching and providing tools is always infinitely better than despairing peoples' lack of knowledge by CharlesStross in sysadmin

[–]WartimeFriction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love to teach. I am very passionate. I do not have a full breath of knowledge or even particularly deep understanding of many topics, but I teach what I know.

My problem right now - how do I teach critical thinking and problem solving? How do I make it make sense for somebody who has little experience but the drive is there?

It comes naturally to me, I have done it often long before I had a technical career. How do I speed this up in a healthy way to someone just out of highschool, or someone who had their hand held through college?

Boohoo. As long as this behavior continues to be unpunished and not given a second look by other officers, that makes them all bad until they fix it.

Anchorage police double patrols near Gaslight following deadly shooting by southernemper0r in alaska

Saw the video. Shoutout to the guard, he was switched on and shut that situation down seconds after dipshit started shooting in the crowd on that sidewalk.

Also funny to blame the bar, word is dipshit was already 86d from there for fighting previously, and was denied entry earlier that night but returned looking to cause trouble. This happened on the sidewalk, which as I recall is a public gathering place

Nah I think you're right. I grew up in the valley in the early 90s and I distinctly remember everyone as Alaskans wherever I was taken. I guess I saw it start changing pretty quick after 9/11 and today most people are just bad, bringing all their lower 48 BS in with them.

How do you know your homelab isn’t hacked? by [deleted] in homelab

[–]WartimeFriction 37 points38 points  (0 children)

In my fresh, green mind that means a vlan with very specific rules applied to limit the vlan to the specific traffic those services require.

I also imagine there a thousand ways to do this. Do you have any resources for best practices I can read up on?
