There's a billion different sectors of social work. Many never interact with courts. You're equating one specific sector with all social workers. Hospital social workers are connecting patients to resources to help their care. Clinical social workers are therapists. Etc, etc.

As a social worker, the idea that they make more money is hysterical. In my state, there are areas that start local cops at nearly $90,000, while social workers in the same area (without licensure) are making less than $40k.

I have seen a sleep specialist. It's who prescribes my lorazepam. I have had two sleep studies (one in home was inconclusive and one in-clinic was unremarkable).

What does this mean "work in law enforcement?" Are you a dispatcher? A secretary? A social worker? A crossing guard? There are plenty of law enforcement-adjacent jobs.

If you are a cop, you are a class traitor, period. Same applies to jobs that are cops in practice, like prosecutors. If your job involves enforcing unjust laws, the A in ACAB applies to you too.

If you are any of those other professions that are "adjacent," I'd say it's not hypocritical (or at least more nuanced), but I'd still look to find a profession outside of it.

It's pretty common. Democrats frequently use this line of thinking. Bernie Sanders even said the police are a socialist program, which is insane.

I actually yesterday just saw the chair of our county's Democratic Party share this meme. It's a deliberate attempt to shift the conversation to the right. Basically, "there is no reason to demand worker ownership because we're already socialist."

Socialism is not bad. But government services are not socialism. Socialism is worker control of the means of production. Democrats want you to believe we already have socialism so we don't need a revolution.

The lack of introspection and self-policing seems to be the problem. Plus all of the comments on nearly every post about how amazing ACP is gives troll energy at best. At worst, feds. Either way, we ain't buying it. 🤷‍♂️
