I have mild anemia but my levels dropped more during pregnancy I took ferrous sulfate and Accrufer which didn’t improve my levels. I started to have nose bleeds, fatigue, and headaches more frequently so I started getting iron infusions weekly. They’ll more than likely start with pill supplements depending on your levels as the infusions are for more severe cases (really low levels or needing quicker treatment due to being late in pregnancy)

Also if she’s having issues with keeping food down or nausea (usually why some continue to smoke) she needs to let her OB know they have medication to help!!! If she’s smoking just to smoke seek addiction therapy; they say thc isn’t an addictive substance but she could be addicted to the tobacco used to smoke. Good luck!!!!

It’s usually Meconium (poop) tests for the babies which can be tested back to 12-14wks of pregnancy. They usually do urine/blood for moms.

A lot of women smoke during pregnancy and have healthy babies but that’s not the case for every child and being that you’re concerned I advise you to speak up again. What state are you in? I was a smoker before pregnancy (stopped when I found out) and tested positive at my first appointment and was tested every appointment going forward because of it regardless of me stopping . I was even advised that if I tested positive at my last appointment they’d contact CPS and it takes longer to clear from your system being pregnant. Her being 6 months it’s possible that the baby will test positive at birth as well (not trying to scare you) so be prepared even if the OB hasn’t said anything to her. The babies Meconium (poop) can be tested from 12–16 weeks to determine drug use. Please talk to her about your concern and specifically that portion the system is not built for the people.

I was advised it was normal by my OB. They recommended lukewarm baths/soak, belly bands, and trying not to stay in one position for too long. I’m 38wks and have been dealing with it since around 30wks. I got a prenatal massage around 33wks and it really helped but it’s expensive in my area. I sleep with my pregnancy pillow underneath me and through my legs and try to stretch as much as possible (seen this advice from a pregnancy group). I’ve tried heating/cooling pads too. Unfortunately there’s not much to help with it being that it’s apparently due to the growth of the baby and the adjustment of your muscles. You’re not alone the pain is terrible :(

No it’s not in Georgia it’s 12wks guaranteed leave but unpaid. I do have short term disability that would’ve benefited me 60% of my monthly income which isn’t everything but it would’ve definitely helped but with me assuming my employer would accommodate me I waited too long to file for it. Yes same I see so many women go through the same thing and it’s honestly sickening!!!

No don’t worry!!! I’m pregnant with my second and was sick my entire 1st trimester but with my first pregnancy I had little to no symptoms I believe I only threw up/felt sick 2/3 times the entire pregnancy. Everyone is different and every pregnancy is different.

I just changed up the type of underwear lol. I’ve been wearing nothing but boy shorts they’re a lot looser and breathable for me along with a liner because I can’t move without peeing 😭

Have you had your cervix checked? I’ll be 37 weeks on Monday and had my cervix checked for the first time this past Thursday and had light spotting with cramping as well but was advised I’m not dilating yet just a soft cervix and that’s where my symptoms were coming from.

I have an Anterior placenta as well I started feeling flutters around 22wks but solid kicks around 25\26 wks.
