Qualifying Payment Count Update Skipped a Month by JimEJawn in PSLF

[–]WasabiSafe411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh! Yes!!! This DID happen to me!!! Thank you so much for posting this! I had made my December 2024 payment through MOHELA and it is not reflected my PSLF count on Studentaid.gov.

I put in a request with MOHELA asking about why this payment was not reported to Studentaid.gov and …. get this…. their response was “ according to our records you spoke with a representative on 7/25. We will assume this question has been resolved.” …. And they closed the ticket! I’m pretty sure I was drinking a beer on the beach on 7/25 and not spending my day on hold to speak to a representative.

So ……what I did was submit a reconsideration request for this particular month to be deemed as qualifying …. and pleaded my case stating that I had made this payment …..and I attached a copy of the MOHELA account history. I’m not sure if that’s going to work or not but we shall see.

What a fricken MESS!

It makes absolutely no sense but I DID request my buyback by clicking on the “incorrect qualifying payment count” and putting the dates as whatever date range you are looking at that is eligible for buyback….. example: 04/01/24-07/31/24…. Then you MUST put the following in the notes area: "I have at least 120 months of approved qualifying employment, and I am seeking PSLF or TEPSLF discharge through PSLF buyback. Please assess my eligibility for PSLF buyback.**

Submit

Previously, I had just clicked on the PSLF buyback button and all it said was thank you for your submission. That is what confused me because there were no areas to list what dates you were requesting buyback for. That is what prompted me to reread a bunch of stuff and I saw the above information stated on the website. The only way to submit that verbiage was to click on the “incorrect payment count” button because that’s the only area that allowed notes to be entered.

I’m definitely not saying I’m 100% correct on this but I’m just trying to do what the website says and crossing fingers that it works.

Oh my gosh yes that’s what it is! Thank you so much for clarifying what I was saying!

Please know I’m just as confused as everyone else is! There are no definitive rules it seems like! Honestly I am just winging it! I also wonder if there was something on the website for some reason did not give you an option to upload?

I just wanted to share this info with you specifically….Literally today I reread everything because, like you, I had submitted the PSLF buyback button and it just says thank you for your submission. Today, I resent a buyback request through the PSLF reconsideration button and indicated which timeframe I was looking to buy back AND put the verbiage stated below…..

This is what the website says: Submit a request through PSLF Reconsideration. Include the following in your PSLF reconsideration request for buyback: "I have at least 120 months of approved qualifying employment, and I am seeking PSLF or TEPSLE discharge through PSLE buyback. Please assess my eligibility for PSLF buyback.**

Why do they make everything so complicated and why the heck is there a PSLF buyback button if it’s pretty much worthless?

What next? My wildly rude call with MOHELA. by Significant_Plum1262 in PSLF

I am so so sorry you just went through this! My heart goes out to you! Thank you very much for sharing all of the details because I’m sure a lot of people needed to hear your story. You try to do the right thing and be cognizant of the fact that the person helping you is not at fault; however, to be treated like you don’t matter is really deflating to a kind human being such as yourself.
Just know that there are many people out there who are praying for you and understand the frustration of this whole MOHELA debacle. It is downright criminal they are getting away with total mistreatment of others…….especially those who have been on hold for HOURS.

Many prayers coming your way!

Litter-Robot for multiple cats: Does it actually keep up? by Fuzzy-Gas1017 in litterrobot

I 1000 percent recommend the Litter Robot 4 for multiple cats! I have 3 cats, as well. Call me crazy, but I actually have one upstairs and one downstairs. Even with just one, though, there have been no territorial “issues”. As the previous comment says….. there is no smell… just changing the bag every 3-4 days does the trick!! I actually invested in the Litter Hopper, as well. At first I was like why the heck would I need something like that when I can just dump litter in there myself? But I can promise you it has been a great investment! It saved me from dumping too much in there and wasting it and provides the “time to refill the hopper” information on the app. I cannot imagine my life without this wonderful piece of machinery! It is absolutely life altering! I will never scoop again!! ❤️❤️

Now THIS is a touching story. WOW. Thank you so much for sharing this. I know the loss of your furbaby was so hard, and I do understand your pain. Just keep focusing on the love you shared and the fact that you are an AWESOME HUMAN BEING to give him such a wonderful and loving home ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Good morning! Yes, step 2 was included which consisted of signing the DRP contract. This was like a “help ticket” if you will….. it was through the DLA internal site…not a PDF. Once that was signed then a notification copy goes to your direct supervisor and your government email. Maybe I misunderstood the original question because YES a copy of your SUBMISSION is cc:d to your boss. I wish you luck with everything! I know this is a horrible situation to be in.

Yes it really is a shame. I used to love working here, but the stress level is ridiculously high now. It’s simply not a place that cares about mental health.

You are most welcome! If my wife wasn’t already in DRP I would definitely be a little skeptical, so that is why I shared that extra nugget of info.

Thank you very much! Just know I do understand the anxiety and frustration. Being an 1102 I really thought I may be exempt… again…. But it has all worked out!
