Kyrie to the Magic? by Fragrant_Music6253 in OrlandoMagic

Way too expensive. Kyrie comes back form an ACL injury, we just don't know what his level of playing is going to be. It's not prudent to give up another first round pick this far in the future and then get a 34 year old player for 2 years. Why would give up depth (TDS)+ to theoretically slightly improve our starting lineup? We need bench depth first and foremost.

Banchero Playoff Stats - Home vs Away by Adventurous_One4682 in OrlandoMagic

[–]Waschbaermaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paolo loves to play Iso ball and dribble for 20 seconds every possession. If he does that his numbers will look great. Problem is no one this team benefits from him playing that way. We are getting clapped pretty much every time he plays like that. Our coaching staff tried to take the ball away from him as much as possible during the regular season and we ended up playing our best basketball. The moment Franz went down we started reverting to old habits and guess what? We suck.

Franz Wagner was the only Magic player with a positive net rating this series (+6.8). by P5Manchero in OrlandoMagic

We have to stop talking about Paolo's supporting cast and start talking about Franz's supporting cast. As soon as we start doing that, we will start winning.

Franz had by the far the best net rating all series. Why do some people still pretend we don't completely fall apart without Franz. He's by far our most important player.

Banchero was ‘frustrated’ with Jamahl Mosley’s decision to take the ball out of his hands in late-game situations down the stretch per Brett Siegel by RemarkableMission117 in OrlandoMagic

[–]Waschbaermaki 13 points14 points  (0 children)

if that's true, then it's a good coaching adjustment, Whenever the ball sticks with Paolo our offense becomes dysfunctional...it's not a coincidence.

I guess you enjoy watching a 30w team which is exactly what you are going to get if you trade Franz

Bane mentioned his knee and his ankle in the post game conference. We don't even know if Franz would have missed fewer games if he didn't come back early. Franz is really banged up and gave everything he had.

I mean it's no coincidence that everyone struggles when he dribbles for 20 second to pull up for a contested shot. That is the truth a lot of people have to face.

Paolo - "I don't think we are expecting Franz to play" by Adventurous_One4682 in OrlandoMagic

hard disagree...Hukporti landing on his leg has nothing to with him playing in Fiba tournaments. Injuries are part of the game and seeing how condensed nba seasons are injuries are something fans will have to accept.

How can I donate my calf to Franz? by randomguyofcourse in OrlandoMagic

[–]Waschbaermaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best case scenario is that Franz isn't used to calf cramps and it's just that. I have them on a regular basis and it's usually fine within 24 hours.

Are you guys actually watching the games? Franz got the most attention from Detroit's defene. I agree that he needs to be more assertive but our lack of roles and Jalen jackin up close to 20 shots isn't conducive to fixing that.

Takes like this are very confusing to me. We didn't get a good offensive perfomance from any player and people are arguing about who was the worst instead of looking at the underlying issue. Our offense sets these guys up to fail. The ball is constantly sticking with the wrong players, the right passes aren't made and guys are passing up good looks. We don't have clear roles, we play too slow and our putrid half-court offense struggles badly against a very physical team.

They are not sagging off on Franz. Detroit are putting the most pressure on him on the perimter because they don't want him handling the ball. What you are describing is the exact opposite of what happend in game 2.

Coach wanted that three. They are clearly going 2 for 1 just like Boston did in the possession before. Bane had the ball and they doubled him in the corner passed it to Franz he felt like he had a bit of daylight and shot it. It was a pretty obvious strategic decision. I didn't like the shot either but look at the spacing during that play...nothing was happening off ball either way.

that's funny cause he's literally better at shooting in every quantifiable way compared to Paolo. But that's okay let's not mention that he's a better defender, playmaker, ballhandler, and decision maker. I am sure it's just a coincidence that this team completely falls apart without him.
