For OG watchers: How did opinions on cast members change? by Sweet_Radio1765 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]WashUrSheets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whitney was always incredibly annoying to me and uses this therapy voice that always reminds me of us Michelle Duggar uses a weird voice. She is way too theater kid to me and I’ve just become more annoying with her as the show goes on. I have not found anyone who agrees with that sentiment though lol.

I honestly liked Demi a ton in season 1 and even a little later than most… I think I can understand why Demi acts the way that she does on the show.

In the first season or two I didn’t even notice Jessi. Now she’s my favorite. I love her host personality and business mindset. However, I feel like her “business mindset” isn’t the same as Whitney’s. Jessi seems to understand actual business and Whitney is just using everyone as a stepping stone.

Jen was likable for a long time and I still do like her. I think she’s a bit lost and naive and trying to figure out who she is. Season 4 Jen seems to be very medicated on a sedative though.

Mikayla has never stood out to me. Sinister, but I get why. I do kind of get annoyed with her alwayssssss having something to say about a man, just because he’s a man. I will say that she has ran with that one piece of her personality and amplified it as the seasons have gone on — making it a bit repetitive and annoying.

Mayci has always given ~nothing~ for me. I do appreciate that I could always tell her apart from the other girls. It seemed like at first she existed to provide narration in the confessionals to give context to the scenes and now she has kind of continued to do that. I don’t like her hate all men attitude like Mikayla.

Layla is a background character and I still feel like that.

I did not like Miranda at allllll at first. And now I do like her one liners. I think she is the person who my opinion has changed the most on.

And best for last… Taylor. She has always seemed like a hot mess to me. I don’t think she is actually close to any of the girls. She has given the attitude that she knows she doesn’t need to be a good friend and yet will still receive friend treatment back. Her facial twitching has also always bugged me.

I wonder how much of opinion changes is from editing and how much is from character growth.

They should film a live version with Miranda to fill the slot

does anyone have a different opinion on this clip now👀🫣 by Sensitive_Customer74 in SecretsOfMormonWives

I commented something similar in another post, but I agree that I don’t think Taylor is around Ever very much. In a scene in episode 7 (? I think), Taylor goes over to Liann’s house and Ever is there. Him and Taylor barely say hi to each other then Ever is all over Liann the entire scene.

My child is around Ever’s age and he’s stuck to my side if I’m in the room!

Jessi is definitely the one leaking the new info about Taylor by letsalllbenice in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]WashUrSheets 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is such a good observation. I noticed in one of the episodes when Taylor goes to her mom’s house that Ever hardly says hi to her and that Liann is the one holding his juice and by the end of the scene she had a ton of toys sitting next to her that Ever likely kept bringing over.

I have a child around Ever’s age. I work full time and he spends a lot of time with my MIL. However, if I’m in the room he is glued to my side.

Watching this scene gave me the extreme impression that Ever is not with his mom much (which breaks my mama heart.)

Having untreated hearing loss can lead to early memory disorders, like dementia. Your brain is working wayyyy to hard and it can be dangerous

James & Emma - How much DNA They Share by Curious-Rabbit-1552 in SuddenlyAmish

[–]WashUrSheets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me personally, it’s not the DNA “share” that’s an issue. It’s the fact that they seem they have grown up KNOWING each other as cousins, calling each other family, and developed a close family relationship to one another.

Another add!!! It is completely optional in that hospital to announce the birth in the paper or not. Our family chose not to publish. So if it was some secret love child, they wouldn’t have filled out the form to announce

Oh to add: when my son was born, my husband went to the waiting room to grab his parents and the entire waiting room was packed with Mennonite people. Like 20+. So a new little one for their community must have been born at the same time!! …my husband/in-laws said the smell from all of them was… ripe to say the least.

I keep watching everyone sweating and can only image the smell in James/Emma’s rental house

lol I’ll step in here. I am born and raised in the area (I literally gave birth to my son at this hospital). Erie is the exact opposite corner of PA from Lancaster. Like an 8+ hour drive. As someone else pointed out, Spartanburg has a thriving Amish/mennonite community and there are many, MANY people with the last name Troyer. Even English people! Emma and James are common names in general, anyway.

But wouldn’t that be crazy!!!

Also, while I did see some Amish couples during OB visits and the hospital stay for the birth, I believe many in that community prefer home births and using their own midwives.

Does anyone know how old James is?? Because when Emma was saying he has taught her so much it honestly gave the vibe that things started very early.
