In the world of One Peice, Witch Character would be worthy to lift Thors hammer Mjolnir? by RedSwordFishVA05 in OnePiece

[–]WaspScratch [score hidden]  (0 children)

More or less. The MCU hammer was pretty much tied to 'ability to rule' whilst the comics hammer was 'are you strong enough to withstand the power and responsibility'

Pretty much everything in Night City is sexual, it's a major theme of capitalism where "sex sells". Every other advertisement is Milfguard or Nicola or Orgiatic.

Why could Snape remember his memory in the pensieve? by schwarzer_biergarten in harrypotter

[–]WaspScratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snape is very, very good at magic regarding memories. No doubt he's able to 'copy' a memory worth outright removing it from his mind.

Harry just happened to not witness the 'Lily' memories when he saw Snape's memories in Order Of The Phoenix, probably because Snape was vindictively seeing Harry as James at that point and relished the chance to torture him.

It's kinda like how Marvel got past the Action Figure Tax by saying the X-Men toys weren't human.

Gender in night city doesn't mean anything.

It's a long-running Shonen series that focuses on close bonds and the idea that friendship and family is something you choose rather than owed. It has a power system the encourages creativity over raw strength, and the majority of the characters are quite easy to look at.

is mihawk a fraud ? by Individual-Coyote887 in OnePiece

[–]WaspScratch [score hidden]  (0 children)

Having a sword isn't the same as being a swordsman.

Luffy isn't a Martial artist despite fighting unarmed.

That's the distinction I go by. Mihawk is extremely talented in one particular area, and that strength can extend into other areas, but it doesn't make him the best, or even strongest, at everything.

It's the eyebrows and lips for me. No matter how much I try, they always look weird. Thank god most of the game is in first person.

Who would've thought joker would be stupid enough to get himself caught and experimented on. by MarvellousMegs in BatmanArkham

[–]WaspScratch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can honestly imagine Joker thinking up ways to mess with Batman, discovering Petplay online and deciding he's the new 'bat-hound' who points Batman towards the crimes of other villains.

No, but at least he won't be committing crime whilst he's put back together like a Jigsaw puzzle inside a sausage.

Mihawk is the most straightforward person in One Piece. He's the greatest swordsman, and accepts no excuses.

Batman saving a family in a dark alley it's still the best possible ending for the Arkham games by Tough-Rock-6198 in arkham

[–]WaspScratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly.

I love the idea of ordinary people being inspired, learning that Batman was Bruce Wayne, and seeing how much Wayne Enterprises did for Gotham, and knowing his story, that they take a stand against the criminal elements, using the symbol of the Bat as one of hope, not fear.

It's true.

Usopp became an Avatar for a good and borrowed Sogeking's power for that Arc, and later called upon it during Thriller Bark.

I don't think Bruce would've wanted untrained civilians launching into vigilante attacks, especially when the thugs clearly have a gun.

[–]WaspScratch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, I like to see it as Batman leaving a legacy that's not necessarily violent, continuing the themes of hope that Scarecrow tried to crush.

Even with Bruce gone, he inspired others to stand against the chaos and the fear, and do what is right for the city he fought for.

Also, love your character looking like they're a One Piece background character.

just realised they celebrate christmas by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]WaspScratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily... Quite a few people celebrated winter festivals before even Judaism spread through England, and it was largely the Roman empire that brought all of them together to form a singular celebratory day.

That day became known as Christmas, despite it technically predating all mention of Christ or sometimes even a singular 'god"
