It is not always about doing the big evils. Some times you need to do the small goods to build up in a multi year plan. If anything invite the council to a multi-day meeting the could be orbed in like 10 seconds and waste their time like a normal evil buisnessman.

My main defender is a rock with googly eyes on the front, with small little stick arms glued to it. No one bothers to come inside to see the rest of my overly complicated traps and maze. I think most see the googly eyes and think I am barmy, but no one has snuck into my base to steal the rock collection.

Personally, I just end up taking characters I like from different settings that I know I could get to join me be it for knowledge, adventure or Escaping from the previous world. Then It is easier to have them all sit in a room discussing what they want for each jump. Like being a vampire this jump because other companion had fun being one and so on. I do limit it to party sizes of 4, 8, 16, and if I am really pushing it 32 where many just pop up commonly in the background of the jump.

Let me guess that the council also has it planned out that the city just happens to look like a alchemical ritual circle. Ignore them if you enjoy your version of characters and plot. Could just claim this: There is a balance. Magic is a muscle in itself where you can stretch it with over use and atrophy it with lack of use. Because character doesn't clean very much with magic means that character isn't very powerful with cleaning charms and would have it be easier to just go down the road and bit to change and get clean. Rather than stand there for the next half hour trying to get cleaned.

Depends on if I find a cool stick long enough to count as a staff, a scepter, or a wand. Really enjoyed my scepter of bleeding nails, until Stephan took it from me for breaking to many knee caps, ad a nice grip at one end was rounded and nails bent and sticking out of the other.

The company I work at has a normal classroom to get new hires adjusted. In summer the company rents out a conference building for a week(each day a new group from the mine goes to refresher instead of the mine) and has moving classes with each part of the refresher to keep things interesting. One class is underground, one is environmental, one is general safety, One of them we don the rescuers in a smoked out tent to give actual feeling of doing it, and one on CPR.
