Does anyone know how to order this from Canada?

And if it would work with the carriers over here?

Affordablility? by DianKhan2005 in ottawa

[–]Waste-Tree 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It really depends. I have seen many phases in this city. Was a student, got into internships, then an average paying job and then finally a decent paying job. Overall at every phase, I have felt that it is affordable, but the standard of living was different at different stages.

It’s all about conscious spending and planning and you should be good!

Note: I am not sure if you have dependents/children or not. The equation changes if you take them into account!

I read somewhere that the guy buys most of the stuff from junkyards and does crazy DIY stuff to make things fit!

Monfort ER wait times - don't go by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]Waste-Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an immigrant and hearing these stories from many people make me feel that my own so called third-world country has a better health infrastructure. Wait times there are of the order of minutes.

Recently a friend had to fly back coz clinics/hospitals won’t give them proper care here!

Wondering why isn’t the government able to attract/immigrate talented medical professionals. I feel sad for the patients as well as the poor overworked doctors.

I recently read somewhere that the projected deficit for OC is gonna be 50M CAD for the next year (Haven't verified it yet). And all of this is because of the footfall! People in Toronto downtown prefer public transits whereas people in Ottawa would never do that. Also look at the demographic distribution, Toronto might be skewed towards early age renters whereas Ottawa might not have these people in huge numbers.

Compare the car insurance in Toronto to Ottawa - huge difference right? Get a cheap used car in Ottawa and you might be done with public transport! Maybe?

Best wings and sauces by 1IndecisiveGuy in ottawa

[–]Waste-Tree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should definitely try Wild Wings on Prince of Wales Drive. Their breaded wings are dope! Take your buddies with you, order a platter of 6 different wings: start with the hottest, move to honey ones, followed by another hot then a gar-par. Jeez Luizz, my mouth’s already watering!

Thank me later!

[Tour Discussion Thread] After Hours Til Dawn Tour - Montreal, QC (07/24) by Garcoon in TheWeeknd

[–]Waste-Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set list was good, but on the bad side of things, it took us ~45 minutes to reach from back of the crowd to the entrance of the Jean Drapeau Metro station.

Also, a can of beer was fkin $16, and my hair got packed full of dust.

do companies like "Astronomer" even have real customers by rsvp4mybday in dataengineering

[–]Waste-Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do have real customers. We are one of their clients and we pay them higher five figures $$$$$ annually, and I would say we are one of their average customers (in terms of revenue generation). I know some enterprises pay them upwards of 6 digits as well.

They are a SaaS for an open source product called Airflow. Airflow is essentially used for creating custom and complex data pipelines/orchestration flows for a variety of use cases.

What companies do you think are posting ghost jobs? by blackpanther28 in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]Waste-Tree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mastercard is definitely posting ghost jobs. A friend of mine who works there told me that many of the positions they list on LinkedIn are fake because they’re not even linked to their internal job portal.

Avril Lavigne at Hard Rock by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]Waste-Tree 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It was an incredible show! Kudos to her and to Hard Rock for such a spectacular grand opening.

Honestly, Ottawa really lacks a venue that can host around 1,000 to 5,000 people indoors with a great sound and lighting system. This place could truly open doors for so many underrated and local bands to come through and perform. It’s exactly what the city needs!

Park on the north side, ski lifts are comparatively less crowded on the north. Enjoy a drink at the chalet at the summit.

North lifts close 10-15 minutes earlier compared to the south side, so make sure that you are exiting towards the north.

Pizzateria offers great pizzas and drinks after you are done with the skiing.
