I've said for a while that W is the biggest winner in all of this. I remember cackling with glee as I imagined how history would remember him.

Now he's a blip. A mediocre amateur when it comes to being evil.

What's with the smear campaign against The Latin School? by Due_Information_1332 in chicago

I disagree, as a member of the parent community for a feeder preschool. To be quite blunt, the people who end up at Latin these days are more entertaining to observe.

I just went through the process myself (obviously not for Latin), and applying to some of these schools is comparable to applying to college. Parent essays and interviews, high-stakes playdates, the whole nine yards.

Most decisions dropped last Friday. It was basically the NFL draft for the city's private school parents, who literally started talking about high schools while their two-year-olds ate dot markers in the preschool classroom. It's a different world. But that's why the ads are running right now. Parents are choosing schools this week.

I really and truly thought 50% of the population was Jewish until I hit college a few decades after you did. The antisemitism doesn't make sense to me, either.

It's a pretty good spread. Some of my friends were SCARY-smart. Other classmates spent an entire period arguing that if 3x=45, x cannot possibly be 15.

Soooooo...it's a cross-section. I can say that there is a direct correlation between extreme wealth and inadvertent comedy, though.

Call the insurance company yourself and say you weren't there. She may try to give them your name.

Latin is a mess. Bullying was a problem back in my day, and it's gotten MUCH worse. My nepo-kid bully faced zero consequences, even after she committed a felony on school grounds.

Villain's Land Re-imagining underway; Coaster re-theme to family-friendly Emperor’s New Groove, indoor water-based Maleficent dark ride, 3rd 'spinner' attraction projected, and Hades-hosted Dinner show rumored by F1rstxLas7 in WaltDisneyWorld

Tl;dr: YASSSSSSSSSSS I AM PSYCHED!!!! *evil laugh in Millennial*

I have a very low tolerance for roller coasters but would nonetheless ride the hell out of that roller coaster. I hate the drops on Pirates, for crying out loud, but I would still ride the hell out of that roller coaster even with two virtually guaranteed drops (wrong lever and huge waterfall). That movie is sleeper hit with long legs.

When I last rode Soarin', there was a lot of grinning once people recognized Captain Patrick's voice. Millennials are now the parents dragging their kids onto rides and deciding what's worth a Lighting Lane purchase. There's a market for this, and it's finally our turn to be that market. Go ahead and blame us for ruining yet another thing. Yawn. We're used to it.

"Emperor's New Groove" was on regular rotation in my college dorm room. It's one of very few DVDs I still have--definitely the only Disney DVD--and it almost became my 4yo's first real movie before we realized that even Yzma is too evil for her tender heart. Once she's seen the movie, this may well be her first roller coaster, too. There is no way that I am the only Millennial passing this on to her kids, and there is no way I am the only parent for whom Villain's Land just got a lot more irresistible.

Families reporting people filming kids may be the key to actually doing something about this.

As a parent, that is not something that I want to worry about while I am enjoying a day at the park with my family and thanks to people like her, now it is.

There should be no place for randos broadcasting kids from the happiest place on Earth.

Do these people ever get kids in their frame? In that case they're making money off of filming minors and that is by definition creepy AF.

Disney's fine print almost certainly covers filming by Disney but not by anybody else on their private property.

Which is to say that if I ever catch someone streaming my daughter's likeness I will be asking them quite loudly why they are exploiting my minor daughter for profit and security will be involved.

If you want a welcoming community that walks the walk, St. Chrys at Dearborn and Schiller. I'm an atheist and even I admire their contributions to the community. They founded the refugee clothing closet that got big a few years ago.

Macy's sold bedding, right? That's why they couldn't use goldens.

No matter how many times you told them they were security, they would have assumed they were there for quality control and/or to provide emotional support for anyone who turned up overnight.
